Edge Makes Shocking AEW Debut at WrestleDream – Former WWE superstar Adam Copeland, better known as Edge, has signed with AEW, and he made a live appearance at the WrestleDream pay-per-view in Seattle.
In a dramatic turn of events, Christian Cage successfully retained the TNT Championship with an assist from Nick Wayne, who turned on Darby Allin. The post-match assault continued with Cage, Wayne, and Luchasaurus attacking both Sting and Allin.
As the lights dimmed, a mysterious figure was seen driving into the arena. When the lights returned, Edge’s iconic theme music, Metalingus, echoed throughout the venue. Edge entered the ring, initially teasing an attack on Sting with a chair but ultimately turning the tables on Christian’s group.
To close out the show, Copeland shook hands with Darby Allin and Sting, signaling a new chapter in his wrestling career within the AEW promotion.
Edge’s return to professional wrestling marks a significant moment in his storied career. Having wrestled his last match for WWE on the August 18 episode of WWE SmackDown, where he defeated Sheamus, Edge’s contract with the company expired in September.
Edge’s wrestling journey began in 1992, and he joined WWE’s ranks in 1997, making his television debut in 1998. His tag team partnership with Christian produced seven WWE Tag Team Title reigns. In 2011, Edge was compelled to retire due to injuries, but he staged an incredible comeback in 2020 as a surprise entrant in the WWE Royal Rumble.
