CM Punk Announced for Upcoming MMA Event – While remaining a free agent on the open market, CM Punk is turning to his second passion, which is MMA, as he waits to see what will come from pro wrestling.
On a regular basis, Punk does commentary for the Cage Fury Fighting Championships promotion. Punk lost his first pro-MMA fight back at UFC 203 in Cleveland, Ohio, against Mickey Gall via first-round submission. In his second bout, he lost to Mike Jackson by decision at UFC 225.
Punk’s loss to Jackson at UFC 225 in June 2018 was overturned to a no-contest due to Jackson being stripped of the win after he tested positive for marijuana on fight night.
Punk is among those invited to the show alongside Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, magician Criss Angel, Frank Mir, and Nate Diaz. The announcement read as the following:
