Backstage Talk on AEW Dynamite and NXT Going Head-to-Head Next Tuesday – Next week, AEW Dynamite and NXT will go head-to-head on Tuesday due to MLB coverage on TBS.
With NXT’s recent rise in ratings and the star-studded lineup advertised for the show, including John Cena, Paul Heyman, Cody Rhodes, Becky Lynch, and Asuka, there is anticipation that NXT could potentially surpass Dynamite in the ratings.
Dave Meltzer, speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, believes that NXT has a strong chance of winning the ratings battle and commented that they should probably win, given the star power and motivation behind the show.
“They have a real good shot at winning. I mean, yeah, I think that they should probably win.”
Meltzer also expects next week’s episode of RAW to heavily promote NXT for the following night’s head-to-head showdown. He anticipates heavy promotion of NXT on RAW, possibly the heaviest ever, with more big roster names making appearances on that show to be announced on Monday.
“They’re going to try. I mean, both companies are loading up. And the reason is, is for this, I mean, it’s a real competition. And I mean, the thing I expect very heavy promotion of NXT on RAW next Monday, probably the heaviest ever, because this Monday was pretty heavy. But I think next Monday will be well for sure. It’ll be heavier, it’ll be probably the heaviest ever and I would expect more big roster names on that show next week. That, you know, will get announced on Monday.”
On the Dynamite side, Adam Copeland (formerly known as Edge) is set to make his AEW in-ring debut against Luchasaurus, which adds an extra element of excitement to the show, especially after his big promo on Christian Cage this past Wednesday.
