Athena Expresses Desire to Work More Often with AEW

Athena Expresses Desire to Work More Often with AEW – Athena, the current reigning ROH Women’s Champion and proudly self-proclaimed “forever ROH Women’s Champion,” has maintained her hold on the title for over 300 days, with no apparent end in sight to her impressive reign.

While it’s common to see many ROH champions make appearances on AEW television, Athena has primarily remained exclusive to ROH TV, making her presence a unique and distinctive one.

During a virtual signing with K&S WrestleFest, Athena was asked about her current and long-term goals in the wrestling world. She expressed her current focus on Ring of Honor and her commitment to helping build the brand. However, she also revealed her aspirations beyond ROH, expressing a desire to work more frequently for AEW.

“Right now, I’m focused on Ring of Honor and helping build that brand up. I do have more aspirations outside of Ring of Honor. I want to work for AEW more often, I want to be a main staple on AEW television, as I’m doing for Ring of Honor right now. I would love to do both at the same time. As far as my career goes, in the long term, I kind of go where the wind blows. Never say never as far as what comes in the future. What I’m focused on now is just building myself up because it’s taken me quite a long time to get where I am currently. Hopefully, you can call me three belts Athena in AEW when the TBS Championship, AEW Women’s Championship, and Ring of Honor Championship are all around my waist. That would be the highest aspiration right now, to hopefully main event an AEW pay-per-view. I’m going with the flow,” she said.

In her most recent ROH appearance on the October 12 episode of ROH TV, Athena secured a victory against Mazzerati. Additionally, she participated in AEW’s WrestleDream, where she teamed up with Billie Starkz, Keith Lee, and Satoshi Kojima to defeat Diamante, Mercedes Martinez, and Shane Taylor Promotions, showcasing her versatility and broad wrestling horizons.
