Piper Niven Out of Action, Women's Tag Team Titles in Jeopardy Again

Piper Niven Out of Action, Women’s Tag Team Titles in Jeopardy Again – During tonight’s episode of WWE RAW, Adam Pearce addressed the status of Piper Niven, one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, by revealing that she is currently not medically cleared to compete. This announcement has sparked speculation within the WWE Universe about the fate of the Women’s Tag Team Titles.

According to Fightful Select, Niven is currently sidelined due to a short-term illness. While the exact nature of the illness hasn’t been disclosed, the hope is that Niven will recover fully and return to in-ring competition within the next week or two. Her absence comes at a time when she and her partner Chelsea Green have been carrying the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.

Despite Niven’s temporary setback, WWE officials have not made any decisions to vacate or strip her and Chelsea Green of the Women’s Tag Team Titles. This decision aligns with the recent history of the titles, which have faced their fair share of challenges and changes over the past few months.

As Chelsea Green awaited the return of her partner, she found herself in an unexpected singles match against the fierce Raquel Rodriguez. The circumstances surrounding this match took an unfortunate turn for Chelsea, as Rodriguez, still seething from her loss at Payback, channeled her anger into a determined effort to dismantle one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Rodriguez is once again set to face Rhea Ripley next week on RAW, this time with Dominik Mysterio banned from ringside.

Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville initially won the Women’s Tag Team Titles on the July 17 episode of RAW, defeating Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan. However, Deville suffered a devastating torn ACL shortly after capturing the gold, which forced her to relinquish the title. Piper Niven returned to RAW on August 14 and declared herself as the new partner for Chelsea Green, forming an alliance that has shown early promise in the tag team division. They managed to successfully defend the titles on August 21 against Katana Chance and Kayden Carter, solidifying their status as champions.
