Dakota Kai Provides An Update On Her Injury Status – Dakota Kai, a member of Damage CTRL, has been out of in-ring action since May due to a torn ACL. Despite not being medically cleared for an in-ring return, Kai has returned to the WWE touring schedule and is expected to have a consistent presence on WWE television.
However, her full return to the ring is not anticipated until next year. This update on Dakota Kai’s status was shared by the wrestler herself during a recent Twitch Stream, where she discussed her recovery process and future plans within WWE.
“Probably 2024, actually,” Kai responded. “I do think it’s funny that a lot of people are like, ‘She’s not injured at all, look at her walking around.’ But like, ACL injury — I haven’t even learned how to jump and run again yet. I think I’m going to start running this week. But ACL recovery, especially for someone that’s in sport or something like that where you use your legs a lot. Like, if I was a desk worker or something like that, I’d be back in work properly — like fully now. But because it’s wrestling, I won’t be cleared until January.”
With her expected return to the ring in January, Dakota Kai could have the opportunity to compete in the 2024 women’s Royal Rumble match.
