9/12 NXT Results

The show opens with a recap of what has happened in recent weeks, naturally focusing on tonight’s highly anticipated main event, which will see Tiffany Stratton facing off against Becky Lynch for the NXT women’s title.

– We see Becky Lynch arriving earlier today at the building.

Ilja Dragunov vs. Wes Lee in a Number One Contender Match

The match kicks off with a flurry of action as Keith Lee and Ilja Dragunov waste no time getting into the thick of it. The bell rings, and Lee starts with a forearm to Ilja’s face, immediately followed by a boot in the corner and a series of punches. Lee charges into the corner, but Ilja counters with a knee to the face. Ilja goes for a chop, but it misses, and Lee seizes the opportunity to deliver more punishing punches.

Ilja attempts to regain control with a series of forearms in the corner, but Lee isn’t backing down. Lee tries to lift Ilja for a slam, but Ilja manages to escape and avoids a chop. Lee, however, isn’t one to give up easily and responds with a well-placed dropkick to the back of Ilja’s head.

Lee continues to press his advantage, locking in a waist lock on Ilja. Ilja counters with a wrist lock and another waist lock. Lee attempts a hip toss, but Ilja reverses it with a brutal chop that sends Lee spinning before crashing to the mat. Ilja follows up with another waist lock and a German suplex, holding on for a second one. Ilja isn’t done yet, as he holds on once more, gearing up for a move called the Three Rivers.

However, Lee manages to escape and lands on his feet after the suplex attempt. Lee seizes the moment and delivers a swift Liger kick, sending Ilja to the floor. Not content with that, Lee launches himself with a suicide dive, crashing into Ilja at ringside. The action is intense as both competitors are pulling out all the stops to gain the upper hand in this hard-hitting encounter.

The action intensifies as Keith Lee goes for a suicide dive, but Ilja Dragunov thwarts his attempt with a well-timed round kick, knocking Lee off balance as he re-enters the ring.

Ilja seizes the opportunity, showcasing his strength by hoisting Lee up for a German suplex, brutally slamming him onto the announce table. Without hesitation, Ilja drags Lee off the table and delivers a series of punishing chops against the apron.

The action eventually returns to the ring, where Ilja maintains control. He starts with a knee drop, followed by a rear chin lock, aiming to wear down his larger opponent. Lee, fueled by the crowd’s energy, retaliates with a flurry of elbow strikes and punches.

However, Ilja swiftly counters Lee’s offense with a lightning-quick enzuigiri, catching him off guard. Although Ilja attempts a rollup, it falls short of a near fall. He continues his assault with a knee drop to Lee’s ribs and a sliding knee to the chest, showing no mercy.

Ilja’s relentless attack includes kicking Lee in the corner with significant force, making it clear that he’s not holding back. His striking abilities and calculated offense pose a significant challenge to Keith Lee.

Ilja Dragunov maintains his momentum with a vicious chop, followed by a series of Kobashi chops that reverberate throughout the arena. His relentless offense continues as he attempts a back fist, but Lee wisely blocks it. Unfazed, Ilja shifts his focus, delivering a punishing chop to Lee’s ribs.

Keith Lee fights back, landing a few punches and surprising Ilja with a well-executed rana that results in a near fall. The intense back-and-forth exchange of forearms and strikes between the two competitors continues, with Lee gaining the upper hand.

Lee launches a powerful uppercut, and Ilja retaliates with a boot to the head. Lee responds with a swift thrust kick, followed by a kick to the chest and a double stomp that sends both men crashing to the canvas.

Lee unleashes a flurry of forearms and chops in the corner, but Ilja counters by blocking one of Lee’s chops and delivering a sharp one of his own. Lee executes a Spanish Fly for another close near fall.

Lee attempts to get Ilja on his shoulders, possibly setting up for a devastating move. However, Ilja counters with elbows and secures a waist lock. Lee manages to fend off Ilja’s attempt to suplex him by delivering a well-timed elbow strike.

Ilja initiates a waist lock, but Lee clings to the ropes and retaliates with elbow strikes. Lee readies himself for the Cardiac Kick, but Ilja manages to catch him. In a swift counter, Lee executes a tornado DDT, causing Ilja to roll out of the ring. Lee doesn’t relent; he leaps over the ring post with a flip dive onto Ilja. He then guides Ilja back into the ring and ascends to the top turnbuckle. Just as Lee is about to strike, Ilja lands a punch to thwart his plans. Ilja positions himself on the turnbuckles and successfully delivers a superplex to Lee. With both competitors on their feet, Ilja prepares for the H Bomb but secures only a near fall. Ilja gets ready for Torpedo Moscow, but Lee interrupts with a jumping knee. However, Ilja quickly regains his composure and lands a forearm strike to the back of Lee’s head. Ilja rolls Lee over for the three-count victory.

Winner:  Ilja Dragunov

After the match, NXT Men’s Champion Carmelo Hayes comes out to have some words for Ilja.

– Tiffany Stratton is shown arriving at the building earlier today.

– We take a look back at the end of the Bron Breakker and Von Wagner match.

– Booker says he has never seen anything like that.  Vic apologizes for some of the comments he made in the heat of the moment. Vic announces that Von has a minor skull fracture but there is no timetable for his recovery and return. Click here for no storyline update on Wagner.

– Baron Corbin walks in the back as we go to commercial.

– We are back and Baron Corbin makes his way to the ring.

Baron says normally he comes out here and you don’t like him and he doesn’t like you.  We get it but tonight is different.  Seven days ago, he sat at the announce table and saw something so vicious the truck had to go to black.  He saw Bron Breakker crush Von Wagner’s skull in those stairs.  He says he doesn’t like Von Wagner.  Everything with Von’s head, skull, and brain surgeries are real.  Bron knew that and he took advantage of that.  He says Von will never be the same again.  Baron says he has something to say to Bron and he asks for Bron to come out.

Bron comes out and Baron tells Bron to stay on the floor.  

He says what Bron did last week, he does not know how to put it into words.  What you did… was freaking awesome!

Bron comes into the ring all excited.  Baron says he didn’t know if Bron would do it or not but he did it.

Bron calls Baron an idiot and asks if he did what he did for Baron’s approval.  He did it because Von put him through a table and he ended Von’s career.  Bron says he can close his eyes and he can still feel it when he smashed Von’s head with the steel steps.  The turmoil and fear that was created in this room.  Bron says he didn’t like it, he loved it.

Baron says he can appreciate that Bron is not afraid to get his hands dirty.  He says he was being nice and was going to offer to pay Bron’s fine.  Baron says he sees that Bron is mean and he ended Bron’s career.  Why not try ending an Olympic Gold Medalist’s career at Wrestlemania and then end another one before his career starts.  You want to talk about evil, he stood across the ring from Undertaker.

Bron says he does not care about what Baron has done. Baron says that he is on a higher level. Bron says he does not care about Baron.  He challenges Baron to a match at No Mercy.  He tells Baron to call his family and friends over the next three weeks because you are going to leave the building the same way Von did last week.

Baron says Bron has a lot to learn.  He says he is not Von and Baron slaps Bron. Bron slaps Baron.  They exchange punches and then security gets in the ring to separate them.

– We see Josh, Brooks, and Myles doing pull ups and Fallon stops by to tell them they are ready for their match.

We go to commercial.

Myles Borne, Josh Briggs, and Brooks Jensen vs. Charlie Dempsey, Drew Gulak, and Damon Kemp

Josh with a slam to Damon and then Brooks joins in for a double slam and they alternate elbow drops.  Josh takes Dempsey down and stomps on him.  Josh with a back body drop to Drew.  Brooks with an Irish whip and clothesline to Kemp.  Kemp with boots to Brooks and Drew tags in.  Drew with punches.  Brooks with a bulldog.  Drew with a side head lock and Charlie tags in.  Brooks sends Drew to the floor and Brooks with a back elbow to Charlie.  Josh with a knee to Drew.  Myles tags in and hits a knee on Charlie.  Charlie with a gutwrench suplex and then Brooks and Kemp tag in.  Kemp with a face buster but Brooks with a spinning heel kick and he gets a near fall.  

All six men get in the ring and then they go to the floor.  Myles pulls Fallon out of the way when Kemp comes off the steps.  Myle turns Brooks into the ring post and then Kemp with a uranage into a neck breaker for the three count.

Winners:  Drew Gulak, Charlie Dempsey, and Damon Kemp

After the match, Myles celebrates with the DDC.

– We go to Chase University and Chase tells everyone to watch the women’s title match. Andre asks Duke if he saw Thea last week and he is worried about her. Duke says that Thea has turned off her location. We see Thea turning off Duke’s location when she is with Jacy. Jacy says that there are some guys coming over to talk to her. They ask Thea if she stayed up past her bedtime and then ask if Andre gave her permission. Jacy tells them not to talk to her like that. Thea says she doesn’t need permission and she puts him in a kimura and kicks him in the ding ding.

Back to commercial.

Dana Brooke vs. Lyra Valkyria

Dana with a waist lock and Lyra with a standing switch.  Dana with an Irish whip and Lyra floats over.  Dana with a head scissors take down but Lyra with a cartwheel to land on her feet and she drop kicks Dana to the floor.  Lyra with a drop kick through the ropes and she brings Dana back into the ring.  Lyra goes up top and Dana pulls Lyra off the turnbuckles and she hits the turnbuckle with the back of the head.  Dana gets a near fall.  Dana with an Irish whip and clothesline for a near fall.  Dana with a cravate and she holds on while Lyra tries to escape.  Lyra backs Dana into the corner and gets out of the hold.  Lyra with punches and kicks.  Lyra with clotheslines and a slam.  Lyra with kicks to Dana.

Lyra with a scissors kick to Dana and she tries for a Northern Lights suplex but Dana blocks it.  Dana with an Irish whip and a handspring elbow that misses.  Lyra with a kick and she goes up top.  Lyra with a frog splash for the three count.

Winner:  Lyra Valkyria

After the mtach, Jordan checks on Dana and Lyra offers her hand to Dana. Dana shakes it and then she wants to attack Lyra but Jordan holds her back.

– We are going to have a Women’s Breakout Tournament.

– Eddy Thorpe is with McKenzie.  She asks him about Dijak.  He says it is hard to calm down when you deal with a snake like Dijak.  He can’t get past him without a little something extra. Dijak is at Eddy’s place and Dijak says he was looking for him.  He tells Eddy that he is marking his territory and he whips a tree with his belt. Eddy says this will have to continue another time.

Back to commercial.

– Dominik Mysterio walks in the back and he stops to talk to Carmelo Hayes.  He credits Hayes for the way he set up his opponent.  He says that Hayes had the two challengers fight it out.  Dom says Hayes can’t beat Ilja.  Hayes says that we will see who is still champion after No Mercy.  Dom says that you used to call this the “A Championship” and that he is the A Champion now.  Hayes challenges Dom.

– Becky is with McKenzie.  She asks if tonight is the night that Becky becomes champion.  Becky says it was about working harder than everyone to get a seat at the table.  She says she is back and there is no one able to match her.  She is more passionate and hungrier than ever.  She is going to right those wrongs and become the NXT Women’s Champion. Kiana shows up and says she doesn’t want Becky here and she wouldn’t win if she had won last week. Becky says she will be in NXT more and Kiana is on her list.

Tyler Bate vs. Axiom in a Group A Round Robin Match in the Global Heritage Invitational

Bate with a snap mare and he gets a near fall.  Bate with a back slide but Axiom with a bow and arrow.  Bate with a lateral press.  They go to a test of strength and Axiom with a side head lock.  Axiom with an Irish whip but Bate goes through the legs.  Bate with a leap frog and then Bate goes for a rollup but Axiom avoids it.  Axiom misses a few kicks and then he sends Axiom to the floor with an uppercut.  Axiom chops Bate and Bate misses a clothesline.  Axiom with a drop kick that sends Bate to the floor.  Axiom with a moonsault off the turnbuckles to the floor.  Axiom goes up top and hits a cross body.  Bate gets Axiom up for an airplane spin.

Axiom rolls to the floor as we go to commercial.

We are back and Axiom with a butterfly superplex.  Axiom with an elbow into the corner but Bate catches him and hits an exploder.  Axiom with a triangle to counter a shooting star press.  Axiom with a kick and Bate with a Liger kick.  Axiom with a kick.  Bate with a slap to Axiom.  Axiom counters a rebound clothesline with Spanish Fly and both men are down.  Bate with a knee lift in the corer and he goes for a back elbow off the turnbuckles but Axiom catches Bate in a sleeper and body scissors.  Bate gets Axiom on his shoudlers again and Bate with another airplane spin but Axiom counters with a poisonrana.  Bate with a brainbuster and he gets a near fall.

Bate goes up top and Axiom with a kick to stop him.  Axiom sets for Spanish Fly and hits it for a near fall.  Axiom goes for an arm bar but Tyler stops him.  Axiom counters a power bomb into a West Coast Pop.  Bate lands on his feet on a rana attempt.  Bate with a rebound clothesline and Tyler Driver 97 for the three count.

Winner:  Tyler Bate (2 Points)

– Butch is in the back with Kelly Kincaid and she asks him about his match next week against Tyler Bate.  Butch says they go back and he mentions their match at the NXT UK title tournament and their match in 2017.  He says he was Tyler’s first opponent.  He says no one brings out the bruiser in him than Tyler.  Next week is fight night.

– Tiffany Stratton is in the locker room getting ready for her match against Becky Lynch.

We go to commercial.

– We go to Joe Gacy and Ava by the Schism Tree.  Joe says that Ava is loyal but the tree is dying.  Joe says the tree is rotten and now they stand alone, more isolated than before.  They put their hands on the tree.

– Trick Williams is in the locker room and Hayes shows up.  Hayes says he always has Trick’s back.  Trick and Hayes talk about Carmelo’s match against Dom.  Trick suggests that he go out and help Hayes but Hayes says he is good on his own. Wes Lee shows up to throw stuff in the trash. Hayes and Trick shake hands and Hayes leaves while Lee throws more stuff away, including the name tag on his locker.

The Creed Brothers vs. Malik Blade and Edris Enofe

Blade with a drop kick to Julius followed by a blockbuster.  Enofe with an elbow drop while Blade hits a flip dive onto Brutus.  Edris gets a near fall.  

We see Humberto and Angel watching on the HBalKony.

Julius with a clothesline and then Brutus gets Enofe up and Julius with a knee while Brutus hits a Death Valley Driver for a near fall.  Brutus with a Samoan drop and a standing moonsault followed by a senton.  Blade with a splash to break up the cover.

We see Tony and Channing watching in BACK.

Brutus sends Blade to the apron and Blade with a cross body.  Enofe tags in and he gets Brutus up and Blade and Enofe hit a blockuster and spinebuster for a near fall.  Enofe with punches and a Fameasser.   Enofe with forearms and it only angers Brutus.  Brutus with a POUNCE.  Julius and Blade tag in and Julius with overhead belly-to-belly suplexes to Enofe and Blade.  Enofe with ap unch but Julius with a rolling slam.  Blade with a cross body and Julius catches Blade.  Brutus tags in and they hit a cannonball and power bomb combination for the three count.

Winners:  Julius and Brutus Creed

After the match, Tank and Hank come out but they are attacked by Nima and Price while SCRYPTS hangs around.

– Lyra Valkyria shows up to talk to Becky Lynch. Becky congratulates Lyra on her win.  Lyra tells Becky to win the title.

Back to commercial.

– Roxanne Perez is in the locker room telling a few people how important the Breakout tournament is. Lola Vice and Elektra Lopez show up and they talk about Roxanne starting issues in the locker room. Roxanne tells Lola to listen to her mom and she is ready for them. Lola says Roxanne’s attitude is going to get her.  Lola says she is going to beat Roxanne and then she is going to win the Breakout Tournament.

– Baron Corbin versus Bron Breakker is official for No Mercy.  Ilja Dragunov faces Carmelo Hayes for the NXT Men’s Championship.  Dominik Mysterio defends the North American Championship against Mustafa Ali.  Noam Dar faces the winner of the Global Heritage Invitational.

Nathan Frazer vs. Akira Tozawa in a Group B Round Robin Match in the Global Heritage Invitational

They lock up and Tozawa with a wrist lock.  Frazer with a reversal and arm wringer.  They go to a stalemate.  Frazer with a side head lock and Tozawa with a head scissors.  Frazer escapes and he hits a flying thrust kick.  Frazer is sent to the apron and he punches Tozawa.  Frazer goes for a springboard move but Tozawa avoids him.  Tozawa misses a kick.  Tozawa iwht a rollup for a near fall.  Tozawa with a German suplex and a Shining Wizard.  Tozawa goes to the turnbuckles and hits a missile drop kick that sends Frazer to the floor.  Tozawa with a suicide dive.  Tozawa goes up top  but Frazer gets to the turnbuckles to stop Tozawa.  Tozawa pushes Frazer off the turnbuckles but he lands on his feet.  Frazer with a superplex and a swinging suplex for the three count.

Winner:  Nathan Frazer

– Kelly Kincaid is with Joe Coffey to ask him about his match against Duke Hudson next week.  Joe says he has been the favorite and the only person in his way is Duke Hudson.  He will slap him down and he will go to No Mercy and win the Heritage Cup. Duke shows up and he says if he wins, there will be a three way tie atop Group B.  He might have to add another nickname if he wins next week.  The Spoiler.

– Becky Lynch and Tiffany Stratton walk in the back as we get Cage Lowering Music.

We go to commercial.

– We are back and Mustafa Ali is with McKenzie.  She asks him about the circumstances of his victory.  Ali says he did not like how Dom officiated the match but there was nothing he could do about it.  Ali says the crowd was not booing him, they were booing Dom.  Ali says he refused to have his hand raised by that criminal.  He will reclaim the title for all of NXT.

Dragon Lee shows up and asks Ali if he watched the match.  Lee says the count was too fast. Ali says it is irrelevant because the result cannot be changed.  He says when he wins the title, Lee gets the first title match. Lee says he is not done with Ali.

– Wes Lee is asked what is next and he says that Ilja was the better man.  He said if he is not going to No Mercy, he is going home.  He tells his wife that he cleaned out his locker and he is done.

We see a hooded woman attacking Blair Davenport. We see that it is Gigi Dolin as they are separated.

– Next week, Carmelo Hayes faces Dominik Mysterio next week.  Roxanne Perez faces Lola Vice.  Butch faces Tyler Bate and Joe Coffey faces Duke Hudson in Global Heritage Invitational Matches.

Becky Lynch vs. Tiffany Stratton for the NXT Women’s Championship

They lock up and Tiffany backs Becky into the corner and gives a clean break.  They go for a test of strength but Tiffany with a kick and side head lock.  Tiffany with a shoulder tackle and she does a cartwheel over Becky.  Tiffany with a matrix and leg sweep but Becky bridges out of the cover.  Becky with a cartwheel.  Becky with an ankle pick on a leap frog and she goes for DisArmHer.  Tiffany escapes.  They lock up and Tiffany with a knee to the midsection followed by a forearm.  Tiffany sends Becky into the turnbuckles a few times.  Tiffany with a forearm to the back.  They exchange forearms.  TIffany with a kick and she drops Becky on the top rope.  Tiffany with a running hip strike to knock Becky off the apron to the floor.

Tiffany goes to the floor and Becky with a punch.  Tiffany with an elbow and she sends Becky into the apron.  Becky with a punch and they exchange forearms.  Becky is sent into the apron.  Tiffany with a forearm to the back and she sends Becky face first into the apron.  They return to the ring and Tiffany with kicks in the corner.  Tiffany sends Becky into the turnbuckles and connects with shoulders.  Becky with punches and uppercuts.  Becky with forearms and Tiffany with a power slam for a near fall.  Tiffany with a seated abdominal stretch.  Becky with an arm drag followed by a rollup for a near fall.  Becky with an elbow and a kick.  Becky with a clothesline or two followed by a leg lariat.   Becky with a forearm in the corner followed by an exploder.

Becky is sent to the apron but Becky sends Tiffany into the turnbuckles followed by a missile drop kick for a near fall.  Becky goes for DisArmHer but Tiffany with a rollup for a near fall.  Tiffany with a sit out power bomb for a near fall.  Tiffany goes to the turnbuckles for the Prettiest Moonsault Ever but Becky stops Tiffany.  Becky with a forearm but she misses a forearm in the corner.  Tiffany is sent to the apron but Becky is dropped on the turnbuckles.  Becky with a forearm to stop Tiffany on the turnbuckles.  Becky goes up top and connects with punches.  Becky sets for a superplex but Tiffany with punches to the midsection.  Tiffany sends Becky to the mat.  Tiffany with a swanton for a near fall.

Tiffany gets Becky on her shoulders but Becky gets to her feet.  Becky with a kick and a butterfly slam and goes for a cross arm breaker.  Tiffany gets her foot to the ropes but Becky with a triangle.  Tiffany gets a near fall.  Becky with a rana to counter a power bomb for a near fall.  Tiffany sends Becky into the ropes and hits a splash to the back followed by a double stomp for a near fall.  Tiffany goes for a urnaage but Becky blocks it and Becky runs into a boot.  Becky stops a Prettiest Moonsault Ever with a side Russian leg sweep off the ropes for a near fall.  Tiffany rolls to the floor and Becky goes for a kick but Tiffany blocks it and sends Becky face first into the apron and then into the ring steps.  Tiffany adjusts the announce table.  Tiffany sets for a power bomb through the table but Becky gets to the ringside barrier.  Becky kicks Tiffany onto the announce table.

Becky with a leg drop off the ringside barrier onto Tiffany.  Becky goes up top and hits another leg drop for a near fall.  Becky with DisArmHer.   Tiffany gets to the ropes and Becky holds on but Becky is sent to the apron.  Becky with a series of kicks.  Becky goes up top and misses a move off the turnbuckles.  Tiffany with a sit out power bomb for a near fall.

Tiffany and Becky exchange slaps.  Becky goes for a urnaage but Tiffany escapes and gets a near fall with a rollup.  TIffany with a Finlay Slam but she misses the Prettiest Moonsault Ever.  Becky with a uranage for the three count.

Winner:  Becky Lynch (new champion)

We go to credits with Becky celebrating in the ring.
