The New Day Return On WWE RAW – This week’s WWE Raw episode witnessed a thrilling return as The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) answered The Viking Raiders’ (Erik and Ivar) open challenge. Kingston and Woods made a triumphant comeback to WWE TV after being away for some time.
Kingston’s absence was due to a sidelining ankle injury that required surgery, and he hadn’t competed since his victorious match against LA Knight on February 24th episode of WWE Raw. Meanwhile, Woods had been absent from the ring since May 15th episode of WWE Raw, where he faced Dominik Mysterio.
The tag team chemistry between Woods and Kingston was on full display, a testament to their past successes and multiple tag team title wins. Despite facing a formidable force in The Viking Raiders, Kingston and Woods showed incredible determination, overcoming the challenges and securing a well-deserved victory.
Unfortunately, The New Day is not fully reunited as Big E is still recovering from fracturing his C1 and C6 vertebrae in March 2022. He recently shared an update on his recovery, keeping fans informed about his progress.
The New Day boasts an impressive legacy, having collectively won the tag team championships on the main roster a remarkable 11 times. Additionally, Kingston and Woods had a brief stint in NXT in December 2022, during which they triumphed by winning the NXT Tag Team Championship. Their reign, however, was eventually ended by Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) in an exciting four-way match at NXT Vengeance Day 2023. Nevertheless, The New Day’s return to WWE Raw promises more thrilling moments for fans to look forward to.
