Hikaru Shida Wins AEW Women’s Title On AEW Dynamite 200 – Hikaru Shida defeated Toni Storm on tonight’s 200th episode of Dynamite from Tampa.

Storm nearly had the match won after spraying the challenger with spray paint and hitting Storm Zero, but Shida managed to kick out, then trapped Storm in a cradle pin to win the gold.

This marks her second run as AEW Women’s Champion. Her first happened at the height of COVID, where she defeated Nyla Rose at Double or Nothing 2020 before dropping it to Britt Baker at Double or Nothing 2021.

Now the bell sounds and we’re officially off-and-running with our final bout of the evening. Storm takes the early offensive lead, but Shida quickly takes over. She grabbs Storm by her ponytail and pounds the hell out of her as the referee gives her a warning.

We see the action spill out to the floor where Shida jaws back-and-forth with Saraya and Soho before ramming Storm into the barricade. She goes for the ten punch counting spot like is normally done on the top rope, but with Storm back-first into the guard rail. Storm ends up dropping Shida on it awkwardly.

This lets Storm take back over momentarily, but not for long, as Shida fights back and hits a nice suplex on Storm into the turnbuckles in the corner. Storm takes back over as the action spills out to the floor. Saraya and Storm get in some cheap shots and then Storm continues her attack on Shida back in the ring as we head to a mid-match commercial break.

As we settle back in from our final commercial break of the evening. we see Storm going for a hip attack in the corner, but Shida catches her coming in and hits a big suplex. She then connects with a missile dropkick for a near fall. She goes for a meteora and another close pin attempt.

Storm and Shida head to the top but Soho gets involved and Storm hits a DDT on Shida off the ropes. We then see Storm connect with her hip attack in the corner. She goes for the cover but somehow Shida kicks out. Shida fights back and hits a knee strike and a falcon arrow for a close near fall but Storm kicks out.

Saraya slides a Kendo stick in the ring but Shida gets it. Storm dares her to use it because the ref is watching. She turns and blasts Soho with it. Saraya uses the spray paint to blind Shida and then Storm goes to steal the win, but somehow Shida kicks out yet again. Shida then rolls Storm up out of nowhere and scores the pin.
