Jeff Jarrett Says He Deserves TV Time In AEW, Talks Importance Of Storylines

Jeff Jarrett Says He Deserves TV Time In AEW

Jeff Jarrett Says He Deserves TV Time In AEW – Jeff Jarrett, 55, has been in the wrestling business for over three decades, and the WWE Hall of Famer signed with AEW in November 2022.

In addition to his role as a talent, he was hired as the Director of Business Development. Since then, Jarrett has consistently been featured on AEW TV, and he has received multiple title shots.

He and Jay Lethal are currently feuding with AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood). Jarrett pinned Harwood in a singles match on the April 26 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Speaking on Good Karma Wrestling, Jarrett was asked to describe why he deserves TV time in AEW.

“Emotional connection with the audience, it’s just that simple. It’s something that goes without saying. The naysayers, ‘Oh, he’s done this, he’s done that.’ All you have to do is listen to the people in the arena. They love me. There’s some kind of ‘FU Jarrett’ that they get going on, but I think that’s a term of endearment. They absolutely love it. But it’s the emotional connection. That will never go away. The boos will continue to get more and more aggressive and more and more athletic. That’s just the nature of the beast. You look at the things that will happen [on AEW Dynamite], it’s truly, I don’t use this word lightly, but revolutionary. But at the end of the day, the emotional connection with the audience existed 70 years ago, and it’s gonna exist 70 years from now. That’s what entertainment is all about. I don’t care if you’re playing NBA basketball, if you’re playing NFL football, or you’re in a Hollywood blockbuster. It’s all about connecting with your audience,” Jarrett said.

Jarrett recently shared his thoughts on why storylines in wrestling mean more now than ever:

“You have so much content being made out there that I think finishes in a lot of ways has almost become somewhat of a blur because in any week’s time, the wrestling audience gets to see however many on RAW, Dynamite, Rampage, SmackDown, MLW, Impact, NWA, all the YouTube they want to watch. It goes streaming, broadcast, cable. There’s so many finishes being done out there, again it goes back to the basics. A story now is everything. It’s the only thing that’s going to resonate with the audience because matches and finishes, there’s too much out there for it to matter.”
