What's In Store For Next Week's AEW Dynamite And Rampage

Dalton Castle will challenge for the ROH World Championship on the tuesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite on October 18, which will go head-to-head with NXT.

This week on AEW Rampage, Chris Jericho and the Jericho Appreciation Society celebrated the events of this past Wednesday. There, Daniel Garcia helped Jericho beat Bryan Danielson to retain the title. Castle crashed the celebration and stated that he has broken his back for the ROH World Championship, and he’s willing to break Jericho’s back to win the gold and give the people an honorable champion. Jericho accepted the challenge and vowed to pluck the feathers off of Castle, ho referred to himself as a powerful peacock.

Jericho is on a mission to beat every great ROH World Champion from the past, and Castle fits the bill. Castle, alongside The Boys, currently holds the ROH World-Six Man Tag Team Championship.

Later in the show, the Best Friends (Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor) and Orange Cassidy challenged AEW World Trios Champions Death Triangle (PAC, Penta Oscuro, and Rey Fenix) to a match for the gold. Death Triangle beat the trio to win the vacated titles on the September 7 episode of AEW Dynamite. The two teams have been feuding in recent weeks, and the rivalry reached another level on the October 12 episode of Dynamite; Cassidy beat PAC to win the AEW All-Atlantic Championship.

The updated card for the October 18 episode of AEW Dynamite is below.

As for Rampage, HOOK will defend the FTW Championship on October 21.

This week, Ari Daivari of The Trustbusters noted that his plan to buy the title from HOOK failed. The Trustbusters previously left an envelope on the stage for HOOK, but he rejected their offer. As a result, his new mission is to take the title by any means necessary, so he will face “The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil” next week on Rampage.

HOOK has been a dominant FTW Championship since he beat Ricky Starks to win the title on AEW Dynamite: Fight for The fallen in July. In his most recent defense, he defeated Angelo Parker on the Zero Hour pre-show ahead of AEW All Out to retain the title.

Plus, 10 will battle RUSH. For weeks, Jose the Assistant has been trying to recruit 10 to leave the Dark Order and join his group with Andrade El Idolo and RUSH. These efforts have proven to be unsuccessful, and on Friday night, 10 took matters into his own hands. He challenged RUSH to a match where, if he wins, Jose must leave him alone.

The card for the October 21 episode of AEW Rampage is below.

AEW Rampage (10/21)

  • FTW Championship: HOOK (c) vs. Ari Daivari
  • 10 vs. RUSH
