Rinku Singh’s Thousand Lives: From ‘Million Dollar Boy’ To WWE

Rinku Singh's Thousand Lives: From 'million Dollar Boy' To WWE

Rinku Singh (India, 1988) is one of India’s most famous WWE wrestlers on its big Raw brand. Accompanying the former company champion Jinder Mahal, and under the nickname Veer, the 33-year-old wrestler made the walk to the ring and then showed the world of professional Wrestling his talent.

Rinku’s story

When he was just a boy, Singh was showing his talent in the world of athletics. More specifically, in the discipline of javelin throwing. At an early age, he won this sport’s national youth championship, and many saw his future as evident. First he wanted to try his luck in cricket, almost a religion in his country. He quickly excelled in this field, and his family saw a future for the whole family.

The problem is that, in a country like India, the competition in cricket is brutal, and to stand out among the big boys, you have to be extraordinary. Unfortunately, this was not the case for Rinku, who in 2008 decided to try his hand at another sport for which he supposedly had many gifts that no one had been able to exploit. Then, he decided to try his luck in baseball through a reality show called Million Dollar Arm.

Several MLB sports agents traveled to India in search of young talent. In their eyes, there wasn’t much difference between cricket and baseball, and they wanted to tap into a previously unknown market. So they looked at the arms of 37,000 kids across the country, offering a trial with different Major League teams as a reward. Sinku was the player who managed to throw the fastest pitch of the contest, putting a ball in the strike zone at 140 km/h and taking home a $100,000 bonus.

Along with the other reality finalist, Rinku Singh traveled to Los Angeles.

However, to play in the Major Leagues, he would not only have to try out for the team, but he would also have to adapt to a culture completely different from his own and learn a language in which he had never spoken a word. Still, he landed a professional contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and his dream came true.

However, the Wrestling champion never made his major league debut. Injuries hampered him to the point that he only lasted a few years in the United States. He later played in the Australian baseball league and the Dominican Republic.

The positive thing about his experience in the United States was that, while playing baseball, Sinku learned and adapted perfectly to the way of life in the land of the stars and stripes.

He soaked up its culture and participated in it, becoming an unconditional fan of Professional Wrestling. He loved the show and saw himself capable of being part of something he had been following and admiring for years.

So when the baseball door closed, the wrestling door opened. He trained day and night. Little by little, he honed what he could best bring to the table with his physical build and skills until he caught the attention of WWE. So in 2019, he signed with NXT, so to speak, the training brand of the essential wrestling company in the world.

Today, anyone knows him. He is talked about on TV, in newspapers, and even on the best sports betting sites in India, where people bet on his victories.

You probably don’t know the world of online betting, but you can find any sport on these sites, not just cricket, which is still the most popular sport in the country.

Right now, sports betting sites are booming in India because there are so many great sports to bet on, and on most of them, you will find guides on how to start betting safely and quickly.

If you like Wrestling and cheering for Rinku Singh, you should look at what we are saying.

The official debut of Singh

The official debut of this champion in NXT came in 2020 as part of the Indus Sher couple, and only a year later, in May 2021, he jumped to the main roster to debut on Raw under the name of Veer as Jinder Mahal’s bodyguard. WWE’s idea that Rinku will adapt to the rigors of professional wrestling ‘big’ as a secondary to make him step up later alongside another wrestler from his country named Shanky.

The guy who started out throwing the javelin, tried unsuccessfully to get his head around cricket, and almost made it in baseball has finally found his place in the world of sports.
