Women’s Tag Title Match Set For NXT Great American Bash

During tonight’s NXT 2.0 episode, Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade faced Katana Chance and Kayden Carter in a number one contender’s match.

The previous week, Perez expressed her interest in using the title shot she earned by winning the Women’s Breakout Tournament to challenge for the gold. Carter and Chance interrupted to stake their claim to the opportunity. In doing so, they set the stage for the clash on Tuesday night.

While the champions watching from the Toxic Lounge, both teams showcased impressive chemistry early on. Chance and Carter controlled stretches of the match, as they had the experience advantage. They isolated Perez for a few minutes until she made the tag to Jade, who took control. In a pivotal moment, Jade broke up a double-team maneuver, and Perez hit the Code Rok for the win.

Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade are now the new #1 contenders. They’ll face to NXT Tag Team Champions Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne of Toxic Attraction at Great American Bash next week.
