Rey Fenix made his return to AEW Dynamite on tonight’s show, appearing to help Penta Oscura and Pac fight off The House of Black.
House of Black was about to unmask Fuego Del Sol on Wednesday night before a hooded figure appeared in the ring. Alex Abrahantes’ voice filled the arena as he warned the trio that unmasking a luchador is a huge sign of disrespect in lucha libre culture. He then stated that Death Triangle has been waiting for the right moment to get revenge on Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews, as the two sides have been on-and-off feuding for the majority of 2022. Penta El Zero M and PAC, who has been absent for the past several weeks, walked to the stage before the hooded man in the ring revealed himself to be Fenix.
The reunited Death Triangle then took the fight to House of Black and sent the group running.
Fenix suffered an arm injury during the January 5 AEW Dynamite main event from a chokeslam off the ring apron, through a table. Fenix later confirmed that he did not suffer any broken bones despite how severe the injury appeared at the time.
