WWE Day 1 Results (1/1) Atlanta, GA

The 2022 WWE Day 1 Kickoff pre-show opens live from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia as Kayla Braxton welcomes us. She says the venue is sold out tonight. Braxton is joined on the panel by Kevin Patrick, Peter Rosenberg, and WWE Hall of Famers JBL and Booker T.

They talk about WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns being pulled from the show due to a positive COVID-19 test. Kayla wishes Reigns a speedy recovery. The panel says this is a game changer as Brock Lesnar has been moved to the WWE Title match to make it a Fatal 5 Way, with Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Bobby Lashley and WWE Champion Big E. They all agree that this is a huge change. The panel plugs tonight’s appearance by rappers The Migos, who provided their “Straightenin” single for tonight’s theme song. The panel goes over the card tonight and we get a video package for The Miz vs. WWE Hall of Famer Edge.

The Miz interrupts the panel and he’s not happy about everyone laughing at how his wedding vow renewal ceremony was crashed by Edge. Miz goes on ranting about Edge and about how he has earned respect. Miz says he will beat Edge tonight, showing that not only has he earned respect from the fans, but he deserves it. He says Edge has just fueled his fire and backed him against a wall, and that’s when he thrives. He promises to dominate Edge because he is The Miz and he is awesome. Miz slams the mic down and walks off. Back from a break and we get a promo for Liv Morgan vs. RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. Sonya Deville joins the panel to discuss the bout, and she also talks about feuding with Naomi, indicating there is more to come there.

Megan Morant is backstage with The New Day now. They cut royal promos and are confident about winning the SmackDown Tag Team Titles tonight. Booker and JBL believe The Usos will retain. We see Kevin Owens arriving backstage as we go to another break. We see what led to Drew McIntyre vs. Madcap Moss happening tonight and the panel discusses the match. Booker doesn’t like Moss’ ring name. We see MVP and Bobby Lashley arriving now. We get a video package on tonight’s RAW Tag Team Titles match, and Booker is looking for The Street Profits to defeat RK-Bro. We take another break.

Ridge Holland and Sheamus vs. Cesaro and Ricochet

We go to ringside and Michael Cole welcomes us. He’s joined by Pat McAfee. They talk about WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns testing positive for COVID-19, and Brock Lesnar being added to the WWE Title match. We go right to the ring and Mike Rome does the introductions as Ridge Holland and Sheamus make their entrances. Out next is Cesaro to a pop. He stops and waits for Ricochet, who also comes out to a pop. They head to the ring together as Sheamus and Holland look on.

The bell rings and Cesaro looks to start off with Sheamus but Sheamus talks some trash and says Holland is Cesaro’s replacement. Holland tags in and goes at it with Cesaro to start. Cesaro catches Holland in mid-air, holds him there, taunts Sheamus and then drops Holland into a backbreaker over his knee.

Ricochet tags in and Cesaro sends him into a pin onto Holland for a 2 count. Sheamus tags in and goes at it with Ricochet. Sheamus cuts off Ricochet’s momentum and levels him. Ricochet mounts a comeback and unloads. Ricochet with a sliding leg drop for a 2 count. Ricochet and Sheamus go at it. Holland is being checked on at ringside after suffering an apparent busted nose by Ricochet. Sheamus rocks Ricochet and nails another backbreaker. Sheamus keeps control and delivers another backbreaker, holding Ricochet over his knee and talking trash.

Ricochet looks to mount another comeback but Sheamus levels him for another 2 count. Sheamus keeps Ricochet grounded now. Cole says Holland may have a broken nose. We get a replay showing how he suffered a busted nose by Ricochet’s boot when Cesaro assisted Ricochet with the double team pin attempt when Ricochet first came in. Holland has been taken to the back and Sheamus is alone now.

Sheamus taunts Cesaro some and goes back to work on Ricochet. Sheamus delivers 10 Beats of the Bodhrán now. Sheamus talks some trash about how he doesn’t even need a partner. Cole says Holland will not return to the match as he’s being treated for a broken nose.

Ricochet looks to turn it around and he finally nails a tornado DDT for a pop. Cesaro unloads and hits the uppercut train. Cesaro sends Sheamus to the floor, then runs around and smashes him into the barrier with a running uppercut. Cesaro plays to the crowd for a pop. Cesaro brings it back in and leaps from the top with a crossbody for a close 2 count. Cesaro plays to the crowd for the Cesaro Swing and now he swings Sheamus around for a big pop.

Cesaro goes for the Sharpshooter but Sheamus hangs on. Sheamus blocks the Gotch Neutralizer and levels Cesaro with a big knee. Ricochet breaks a pin up. Sheamus and Ricochet tangle to the floor. Sheamus blocks a kick from the apron and then drops Ricochet hard on the floor with a big White Noise. Sheamus returns to the ring and goes to the top but Cesaro rocks him in the air on the way down with a big uppercut. Sheamus kicks out at 2. More back and forth now. Sheamus dodges Cesaro and Cesaro hits the ring post shoulder-first. Sheamus comes right back with a Brogue Kick for the pin to win.

Winner: Sheamus

– After the match, Sheamus stands tall to celebrate as the music hits. We go to replays. Sheamus poses in the corner and we go to another break.

– We go back to the panel and WWE Champion Big E is shown arriving to the venue. The panel goes over the card for tonight’s show and we get another break. We get one final discussion on tonight’s Fatal 5 Way for the WWE Title and that’s it for the Kickoff.

WWE Day 1 Opener:

– The inaugural WWE Day 1 pay-per-view opens up with a video package, narrated by rapper Quavo of The Migos. We’re live from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia as the pyro goes off and Michael Cole welcomes to a sold out venue. He’s joined at ringside by Pat McAfee as The Migos’ “Straightenin” single plays in the background. Cole talks about how WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has tested positive for COVID-19, and how Brock Lesnar has been added to the WWE Title match to make it a Fatal 5 Way. McAfee calls COVID a son of a bitch.

SmackDown Tag Team Titles Match: The New Day vs. The Usos

We go right to the ring and out come SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos – Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso. We see recent happenings that led to this match as The Usos pose in the finger with their fingers in the air. Mike Rome does the introductions as The New Day comes out next – King Xavier Woods and Sir Kofi Kingston. Woods rides his throne out on a platform and they head to the ring together.

Woods and Jimmy start and Woods acknowledges his home town.  Woods with a wrist lock.  Jimmy with a side head lock.  Woods with a hammer lock.  Woods with a hammer lock and wrist lock followed by an arm drag into an arm bar.  Jimmy is sent into the turnbuckles and Kofi tags in and they connect with a kick, back senton, and drop kick for a near fall.  Jimmy with chops.  Kofi trips Jimmy as Kofi slides to the floor.  Kofi with a double sledge to Jey when Jey tries to interfere.  Jimmy knocks Kofi off the apron and then Jey clotheslines Kofi.  Jey punches Kofi.  Jey with a belly-to-back suplex.  Jey chokes Kofi in the ropes and Jimmy punches Kofi.

Jey with a slam.  Jey with a running hip into the corner.  Jey sets for another running hip but Kofi recovers and hits a stomp.  Jimmy tags in and he thrust kicks Woods off the apron and pulls Kofi into the corner.  Jimmy with a chop and Jey tags in and he hits a thrust kick to the midsection.  Jey goes for a superplex but Kofi sends Jey to the mat.  Kofi with a tornado DDT and both men are down.  Jimmy and Woods tag in and Woods with a kick and boot in the corner.  Woods with an Honor Roll.  Woods sends Jey into the ropes and hits a drop kick to teh back.  Woods avoids a belly-to-back suplex and Woods lands on his feet and hits a side Russian leg sweep.

Woods with a Michinoku Driver for a near fall.  Jimmy goes to the floor and Woods drop kicks Jey through the ropes when Jey pushes Jimmy out of the way.  Jimmy sends Woods into the announce table and then goes for a Samoan drop.  Woods escapes and Jimmy with an uppercut and Jimmy with a twisting corkscrew senton for a near fall.  Jimmy passes Woods to Jey for an alley oop Samoan drop for a near fall.  Jey with a punch and Woods fires back.  Woods with a forearm and both men are down.  Kofi tags in and hits a cross body for a near fall.  Kofi with a flying clothesline to Jey and then he hits the Boom Drop. 

Kofi sets for Trouble in Paradise but Jey with a super kick and Jimmy tags in and Jimmy with a frog splash for a near fall.  Jimmy charges into the corner and Kofi with a leap frog.  Jimmy with a clip to the knee and he applies a single leg crab.  Kofi gets to the ropes to force a break.  Jey tags in and Woods pulls Jimmy to the floor and sends him into the ringside barrier and ring steps.  Kofi with a rollup for a near fall.  Kofi with another rollup for another near fall.  Kofi with SOS for a near fall.  

Woods tags in and Kofi and Woods with a double pendulum kick.  Kofi with a back breaker and Woods with a double stomp off the turnbuckles for a near fall.  Kofi leaps over Woods and Jimmy.  Jey tags in and Jimmy with a super kick.  They hit a double super kick.  Jey tags in and they go up top for a double frog splash but Woods breaks up the cover.

The two teams face off in the middle of the ring now. They start brawling. Kofi and Jimmy take it to the floor but Kofi gets rocked. Jey counters Woods and in comes Jimmy. Kofi eats a big boot, then The Usos drop him with a 3D in the middle of the ring for the pin to retain.

Winners: The Usos

After the match, The Usos regroup in the middle of the ring and pose with the titles as the music hits. Woods helps Kingston out of the ring as we go to replays. The Usos raise their fingers in the middle of the ring as the celebration continues. The New Day looks on from the ramp while backing away.

Backstage:

Kevin Patrick is in the back with WWE Champion Big E. Kevin asks Big E about Brock Lesnar being added to the match and his odds. Big E asks who had this on their New Year’s Bingo Card.  He talks about how this is like Ellis Island.  Bring me your Bobbys, your Kevins, your Seths, and your Beasts.  Tonight I walk through fire but I will walk out of here STILL your WWE Champion.

— Kayla Braxton is backstage with The Migos – Quavo, Offset and Takeoff. They talk about being WWE fans since they were kids, and tease that we may see them get involved in a match. They seem happy to be here tonight. McAfee plugs their album and their “Straightenin” single, which is the theme song for tonight’s pay-per-view.

Drew McIntyre vs. Madcap Moss

We go back to the ring and out comes Madcap Moss with Happy Baron Corbin. Corbin takes the mic and says he’s the happiest man alive because he’s rich and good looking, which really makes him stand out around here. Moss takes a shot at Atlanta with a joke, and Corbin tells him to kick another, this time insulting his opponent. Fans boo but Moss and Corbin are laughing. Moss says his opponent will fall so far off the map after tonight’s loss, he will have to change his name to Who McIntyre. The music interrupts and out comes Drew McIntyre with his sword, Angela.

They lock up and Drew with a clean break in the corner.  Moss with a waist lock and Drew with a wrist lock.  Moss with a forearm and side head lock.  Drew with a shoulder tackle.  They have a Greco Roman Knuckle Lock and Moss with kicks and punches.  Moss laughs at what he has done but Drew grabs Moss by the throat and sends him into the corner.  Drew with punches.  Drew chops Moss in the corner.  Moss with an Irish whip and Drew with a clothesline out of the corner.  Drew with a dead lift suplex for a near fall.  Drew with a chop.

Moss with a kick and Drew clotheslines Moss over the top rope to the floor.  Moss tries to attack Drew from behind when Corbin distracts Drew.  Drew moves and then hits an overhead belly-to-belly suplex on the floor.  Moss sends Drew shoulder first into the ring post on the apron.  Moss with a running shoulder into teh corner.  Moss with an Irish whip and shoulder in the corner.  Moss chokes Drew in the corner.  Moss with a suplex for a near fall.  

Moss with a running shoulder tackle for a near fall.  Moss with a rear chin lock.  Moss with a knee to the midsection followed by an Irish whip but Drew moves and Moss hits the turnbuckles.  Drew with a suplex and both men are down.  Drew with clotheslines and an overhead belly-to-belly suplex.  Drew with another one and Drew with a neck breaker. Moss with a punch and Drew with a forearm.  Drew with a sit out spinebuster for a near fall.  Drew with a chop.  Moss catches Drew and runs him into the turnbuckles.  Moss with a fallaway slam for a near fall.  

Moss goes for a neck breaker and Drew counters with a back slide for a near fall.  Drew with a Future Shock DDT for a near fall.  Drew with a chop and then he puts Moss on the turnbuckles.  Drew sets for a superplex but Moss crotches Drew and Moss chops Drew into the tree of woe.  Moss gets too cocky and Drew pulls himself up and hits a superplex.  Drew starts the count down for the Claymore and Moss with a boot.  Drew with a Claymore for the three count.

Winner:  Drew Mcintyre

After the match, McIntyre stands tall as the music hits and fans cheer him on. McIntyre poses in the corner now as Corbin stares him down from ringside. We go to replays. McIntyre makes his exit to a pop.

Backstage:

Kevin Owens is in the back and Sarah asks him about Brock being added to the match. Kevin says it is a tragedy and a travesty.  It is bad enough that this was a Triple Threat Match and then it was turned into a Fatal Four Way.  Now it is worse.  It isn’t about him and Seth working together to take care of their opponents.  It is about Brock Lesnar.  Kevin says he is going to get revenge for what Brock did to Sami.  Kevin says he has a plan and the first step is…  Kevin says he has to talk to Seth.

Raw Tag Team Championship Match: RK-Bro vs. Street Profits

Back from the break and out first come The Street Profits – Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins. Jimmy Smith welcomes us to ringside and he’s joined by Corey Graves and Byron Saxton. Out next are RAW Tag Team Champions RK-Bro – Randy Orton and Riddle, who is riding his scooter. Orton and Riddle stop at the entrance-way and wave to the back. Out comes The Migos – Quavo, Offset and Takeoff. RK-Bro heads to the ring with rappers. They all pose in the corners and The Migos get a hometown pop. The Migos take their seats at ringside next to the announce table, behind a mini set of velvet ropes.

Riddle and Dawkins start things off.  They lock up and Riddle with a side head lock.  Dawkins with a shoulder tackle.  Ford tags in and he hits a drop kick and then Ford does some push ups before getting a near fall.  Ford with a wrist lock and Dawkins tags in but Riddle is able to escape and he tags in Orton.  They lock up and Dawkins with a side head lock.  Dawkins with a corkscrew back elbow.  Dawkins with a side head lock.  Orton goes for an RKO but Dawkins pushes Orton away.  Ford wants to tag in.

Ford loosens up as Orton watches.  They lock up and Ford backs Orton into the corner and Ford with a chop.  Ford reacts to how good his chop was and Orton with a thumb to the eyes followed by a drop kick for a near fall.  Orton with the Garvin Stomp.  Riddle tags in and Orton flips Riddle onto Ford for a near fall.

Ford tags in and gets a near fall.  Ford with a waist lock and Orton tries to make the tag.  Riddle with a sunset flip but Ford rolls through and kicks Riddle followed by a moonsault and splash for a near fall.  Dawkins tags in and he punches Riddle and gets a near fall.  

Dawkins with a single leg take down followed by forearms for a near fall.  Dawkins with an Irish whip and twisting splash into the corner.  Riddle is sent into the turnbuckles and Ford tags in.  Ford kicks Riddle in the corner until the referee warns him.  Dawkins tags in and he kicks Riddle.  Dawkins gets a near fall.  Dawkins with a single leg take down and Riddle with a Pele Kick.

Ford and Orton tag in and Orton with two clothesliens and then he knocks Dawkins off the apron.  Orton avoids a clothesline from Ford and hits a power slam.  Orton wit a power slam to Dawkins.  Dawkins is sent to the apron and Orton sets for a double hanging DDT and hits it.  Orton looks around and twists to the mat for the RKO.  Ford counters with a rollup for a near fall.  Ford with a drop kick and Riddle goes for a Superman punch to Dawkins but Dawkins with an exploder.  Dawkins is knocked off the apron by a Riddle jumping knee.  Riddle with a running kick on the apron.  Riddle is knocked off the apron by Ford.  Ford lands on his feet on a belly-to-back suplex attempt.  Ford sends Orton into the ring post and then Orton goes to the floor.

Ford with a plancha over the ring post onto Riddle and Orton.  Orton puts Ford on the turnbuckles and Orton with punches.  Orton sets for a superplex.  Ford with head butts and Orton falls to the mat.  Ford goes for a Frog Splash but Orton moves.  Riddle comes in and sends Ford into the air for an RKO and the three count.

Winners:  RK-Bro

After the match, Orton and Riddle stand tall as their music hits. The Migos return to the ring to celebrate with the champs. We go to replays. Orton and Riddle pose with their titles as the rappers also pose for the crowd. The Profits return to the ring and they shake hands with Orton and Riddle in a show of respect. The fans and Migos applaud everyone involved. Orton and Riddle raise the titles in the air and everyone poses together end the segment.

Backstage:

Drew McIntyre is in the back and he is looking for the locker room. Drew sees Megan and she asks what is next for Drew and if it is Corbin. Drew says Moss caught him off guard.  He is one tough son of a bitch.  He says he goes way back with Corbin.

Moss and Corbin suddenly attack McIntyre and beat him down. Drew fights back and delivers a Glasgow Kiss but a steel chair comes into play and McIntyre is taken back out. Corbin orders Moss to wrap the chair around Drew’s head, and Moss then slams a piece of rigging into it. Moss and Corbin retreat as officials call for help for McIntyre.

Backstage:

Kayla Braxton knocks on Brock Lesnar’s door and she asks him about the change in plans for his title match. Brock does his own Paul Heyman introduction.  He says that Brock does what he wants to do because he is a free agent thanks to his advocate Paul Heyman.  He is going to go to the ring and become the WWE Champion.  He says that isn’t a prediction, but it is a spoiler.

Edge vs. The Miz

We go back to the ring and out first comes The Miz with Maryse. They hit the ring and pose together, and then kiss, which Saxton doesn’t want to see. The Brood’s music hits next as the red lights fall over the arena. WWE Hall of Famer Edge rises up from under the stage and then makes his entrance as Miz and Maryse look on. Edge stops half-way to the ring, the lights go out and then come back on as “Metalingus” starts up and The Rated R Superstar heads to the ring.

They lock up and Edge with a side head lock.  Edge with a shoulder tackle and Miz with a hip toss and he poses on the turnbuckles.  They lock up and Edge with a side head lock.  Edge with a shoulder tackle and Edge blocks a hip toss and Edge with a few hip tosses for a near fall.  Miz avoids the crossface and gets to the ropes. 

Miz wants a test of strength but he is backed into the corner.  Miz with a kick and more boots with Edge on the mat.  Miz misses a drop kick and Edge with a jackknife cover.  Edge goes for a crossface and Miz escapes.  Edge with punches and Miz sends Edge to the floor and Miz misses a drop kick through the ropes.  Edge with a punch but Maryse distracts Edge and Miz sends Edge into the ring post and ringside barrier.

Miz sends Edge back into the ring.  Miz goes up top with a double sledge.  Miz rakes the eyes with his boot.  Miz with knees to the hamstring to set up the figure four.  Miz with a boot to Edge and he gets a near fall.  Miz works on the ankle.  Edge with punches.  Edge with punches to Miz but Miz with an Irish whip and Miz misses a clothesline into the corner and Miz lands awkwardly in the corner.  Edge with a hanging inverted DDT for a near fall.  Edge with a side slam for a near fall.  Miz goes for the Skull Crushing Finale but Edge rolls through.  Miz with a DDT for a near fall.  Miz kicks Edge in the chest many times.  Miz misses a round kick and Edge with a rollup for a near fall.

Edge goes for a crossface but Miz escapes.  Miz sends Edge to the floor and Miz goes to the apron but Edge trips him.  Edge with a hanging Angel’s Wings on the floor.  Edge gets a near fall.  Edge with an Irish whip and Miz goes to the floor and trips Edge on the apron.  Miz sends Edge’s head into the announce table while the referee makes her count.  Miz returns to the floor for a Skull Crushing Finale on the announce table but Edge counters and sends Miz face first onto the announce table.  Edge goes up top and hits a cross body for a near fall.  Edge with a rollup for a near fall.  Miz goes for a figure four leg lock but Edge kicks Miz into the turnbuckles.  Edge with a rollup for a near fall.

Edge is sent into the ring post shoulder first on the kick out.  Miz clips Edge and applies the figure four leg lock.  Miz slaps Edge but Edge rolls over to reverse the figure four leg lock.  Miz escapes and he applies an STF but Edge escapes.  Edge goes for a crossface but Miz rolls through to escape.  Miz sets to catapult Edge into the turnbuckles and Miz uses the ropes but the referee stops her count.  Edge blocks a figure four and Edge locks in the crossface.  Miz tries for a follup but Edge rolls through and Maryse puts Miz’ foot on the rope to force a break.  Miz rolls to the floor.  Edge tries to bring Miz back into the ring but Miz drops Edge on the top rope.

Miz goes for Reality Check but Edge counters into a back slide.  Both men with boots and both men are down.  Edge with a forearm and Miz fires back.  They continue the exchange.  Miz with kicks and elbows.  Miz with a running clothesline into the corner.  Miz goes up top and Edge stops Miz.  Edge goes up top and Edge with a hip toss from the turnbuckles. 

Edge sets for the spear and Miz with a leap frog and Edge hits the turnbuckels.  Miz holds his knee and the referee checks.  Maryse hits Edge with her purse and Miz with a Skull Crushing Finale for a near fall.  Maryse gets on the apron and has some words for the referee.

Beth Phoenix comes out and she snarls on the stage and then when her music starts, she makes her way to the ring.  Beth walks briskly as Maryse stays a half lap ahead of Beth.  Maryse goes to the back while Beth stares at Miz. Beth and Miz have some words but Miz turns around to a huge Spear from Edge for the pin to win while Maryse stops and looks on from the entrance-way.

Winner:  Edge

After the match, Edge stands tall as the music hits. His wife joins him in the ring as Miz slowly exits the ring. Edge and Beth pose together, staring out at Maryse. We go to replays and come back to Edge and Beth posing together to end the segment.

Backstage:

Bobby Lashley and MVP are in the back and Kevin Patrick asks about the addition of Brock Lesnar to the match and his decreased chance to win.  Porter says that Brock is a once in a lifteime athlete and the odds to win have gone down for everyone but Bobby Lashley.  Lashley is not afraid because he is a once in a lifetime athlete.  He is the yin to Brock Lesnar’s yang.  Lashley says he looks forward to the addition of Brock so he can say that he beat Brock to regain the WWE Championship.  

Lashley says he is looking forward to making Brock tap out.

Raw Women’s Championship Match: Becky Lynch vs. Liv Morgan

We go back to the ring and out comes Liv Morgan. RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch is out next. We get formal ring introductions from Rome.

They lock up and Becky slaps Liv on the break. Liv with a springboard face buster that sends Becky to the floor. Liv sends Becky face first into the announce table many times. Liv sends Becky back into the ring. Becky rolls out of the ring on the other side. Becky kicks Liv when Liv goes for a dive to the floor. Liv with an arm drag to counter the Manhandle Slam. Liv with a knee in the corner and a drop kick to the back. Liv with a springboard double stomp to the back followed by boots for a near fall.

Becky avoids ObLIVion and Becky with a rollup for a near fall. Liv with an arm bar submission and Becky gets to the ropes. Liv with a forearm but Becky with a knee and kick from the apron. Liv punches Becky on the turnbuckles. Liv gets a near fall with a rollup. Liv misses an elbow in the corner. Becky swings Liv into the turnbuckles and then catapults her into the bottom rope. Becky gets a near fall. Becky chokes Liv in the ropes. Liv kicks Becky and goes for an O’Connor Roll but Becky holds on to the ropes. Becky goes to the turnbuckles and hits a leg drop to the back of the head in the ropes for a near fall.

Becky with a punch and he rubs Liv’s face on the mat.  Liv with an arm drag and she floats over when Becky charges into the corner.  Becky with an exploder for a near fall.  Becky kicks Liv.  Becky with a spinning back fist.  Becky misses a boot in the corner and Liv sends Becky face first into the turnbuckles.  Liv with a jaw breaker and rollup for a near fall.  Liv blocks a kick and kicks Becky.  Liv with a Thesz Press and punches.  Liv with an enzuigiri.  Liv misses a clothesline.  Liv with a boot and springboard drop kick for a near fall.  Becky pushes Liv away and kick Liv.  Becky with a butterfly suplex into a cross arm breaker.  Liv with a rollup for a near fall.

Liv with a faceplant for a near fall.   Liv goes to the turnbuckles.  Becky with a forearm to stop Liv.  Becky goes for a superplex but Liv with punches to stop Becky.  Liv goes under and tries for a power bomb but Becky blocks it.  Liv with a sunset flip power bomb for a near fall.  Becky with DisArmHer and Liv has her foot on the rope.  Liv with an inside cradle for a near fall.  Becky with a reversal.  Becky sends Liv face first into the mat and gets a near fall.  Becky sends Liv to the apron and connects with European uppercuts and back heel kicks.  Becky goes to the turnbuckles for a guillotine leg drop but Liv moves.  Liv goes up top and hits a missile drop kick but Becky rolls to the floor.

Liv with a suicide dive.  Liv rolls Becky back into the ring and Becky rolls back to the floor.  Becky slams Liv’s head into the announce table.  Becky crawls back into the ring and tells the referee to start counting.  Liv gets back in before the ten count and Becky kicks Liv.  Becky sends Liv over the top rope to the floor.  Liv sends Becky into the ring steps.  Liv puts Becky’s arm in the hole in the steps by the ring post.  Liv stomps on the arm.  Becky kicks Liv when they get back into the ring.  

Becky goes to the turnbuckles and Liv goes up top and hits a divorce court and Rings of Saturn.  Becky with a rollup for a near fall.  The referee warns Liv.  Becky blocks ObLIVion and hits the Manhandle Slam for the three count. Becky tried to cheat again by using the ropes but she was too far and got the clean win.

Winner:  Becky Lynch

After the match, Becky stands tall and raises the title as her music hits. The referee checks on Morgan, who appears to be bleeding from her nose. We go to replays.

Backstage:

Kevin Patrick is in the back and he is with Seth Rollins. Seth laughs and he tells Mike to get this going.  Seth is asked by ‘Mike’ about Brock being added to the match.  Seth says this was supposed to be a one-on-one match until everyone joined the match.  Brock Brocked his way into the match.  What am I going to do?  I cannot divulge my tactics.  The other four men have one thing in common that gives him the advantage.  They are not him.  I am going to go out there and do what I do better than anyone on this planet.  I am going to stomp heads and win.

— We go to footage of Johnny Knoxville wanting to enter the Royal Rumble.

WWE Championship Match: Big E vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar is out last and as he put his feet in the ring, Kevin and Seth go after Brock but Brock with German suplexes to Kevin and Seth followed by a second one.  Brock hits number three on Owens.  Kevin pulls Seth off Brock for an F-5 but Brock hits number four on Kevin.  Big E hits Brock and then clotheslines Brock over the top rope to the floor.  Lashley runs Big E into the ring post.  Lashley sets for Lesnar and hit spears Lesnar through the ringside barrier.  In the ring Lashley gives Owens a neck breaker and he gives Rollins on.  Owens kicks Lashley when he has Rollins up for a delayed vertical suplex.  Owens and Rollins super kick Lashley.  Owens talks to Rollins and Rollins with a suicide dive to Lesnar and then Rollins holds Lesnar down for a splash to Lesnar off the apron.

Owens and Rollins grab the ring steps and hit Lashley with it.  They do the same to Lesnar.  Owens does the Brock Bounce in front of Lesnar.  Owens and Rollins adjust the announce table and Owens puts the hood on Lashley and then Lesnar.  Owens and Rollins grab Lashley and go for a double suplex through the announce table but Lashley escapes.  Big E hits a uranage to Lashley through the table.  Owens hits Big E from behind and then Rollins and Owens send Big E into the ring.  Rollins and Owens with a double DDT to Brock on the ring steps.   Big E gives Rollins a UranagE and then Big E with an elbow to Owens.  Owens with a pop up power bomb to Big E for a near fall.

Owens goes up top and goes for a swanton but Big E gets his knees up.  Rollins with a frog splash to Big E for a near fall.  Rollins with a rolling elbow and a KO to Big E.  Rollins goes for the Stomp but Brock catches Rollins and hits an F5.  Brock gives Big E an F5.  Brock avoids a stunner from Owens and hits an F5 on Owens.  Lashley with a spear on Lesnar for a near fall.  Lashley with the Hurt Lock on Lesnar.  

Lesnar starts fading in The Hurt Lock in the middle of the ring now. Big E makes the save and hits a Big Ending on Lashley. Lesnar blocks a Big Ending, then hits a F5 on Big E for the pin to win the title.

Winner and New WWE Champion: Brock Lesnar

After the match, Lesnar takes the WWE Title and recovers as his music hits. Lashley and MVP stare Lesnar down from ringside. Lesnar sits up on his knees, placing the strap on his shoulder. Lesnar looks back at Lashley and starts laughing. Lesnar stands tall now, raising the WWE Title in the air as fans cheer him on. We go to replays. Lesnar continues his celebration as the referee checks on Big E in the middle of the ring. The inaugural WWE Day 1 pay-per-view goes off the air with the new WWE Champion standing tall.
