Keith Lee is the latest shocking name to be released by WWE.
Lee had recently been repackaged as Keith “Bearcat” Lee after working dark matches for several weeks and there was talk of a heel turn.
Lee battled COVID-19 earlier this year and that led to health issues that kept him sidelined for several months. One has to assume that AEW would be interested in him as well as other wrestling companies.
WWE has also released the following names:
– Trey Baxter
– Katrina Cortez
– Jeet Rama
– Gran Metalik
– Harry Smith
These releases are part of WWE’s budget cuts. In some cases, the releases were due to WWE’s edict to focus on younger talent. The main goal of NXT 2.0 is to create stars for tomorrow that could someday headline WrestleMania.
