Anonymous Wrestler Gives Details On The Real Life Issues Between CM Punk And Eddie Kingston

The in-ring segment between Eddie Kingston and CM Punk was the talk of the wrestling world after last Friday’s AEW Rampage. They touched on what sparked their real-life issues many years ago but some fans have asked for more details on what exactly happened between them.

An anonymous wrestler who was around both of them wrote into the Wrestling Observer to explain what went down in an IWA Mid South locker room 15 or so years ago.

The person said, “I can fully vouch for Eddie’s promo on Punk the other night. I was sitting right there in an IWA Mid South locker room when Punk called Eddie and his partner at the time, Blackjack Marciano, fat, lazy and unsafe. Marciano had just accidentally injured Delirious in a previous match and Punk was hot about it, so just buried them nonstop. I could see why Eddie hung onto that hate and anger for so long.”

It was clear last week that much of what they were saying to each other last week came from a real place and the quote above adds some more context for those who don’t know what they were talking about in their segment. Kingston and Punk will face off tomorrow night at AEW Full Gear.
