Ric Flair Fuels Rumors About His Return To The Ring – Hall Of Famer Ric Flair, who was granted his WWE release on 8/3, is apparently looking for one last run.
The Nature Boy posted a new photo on social media and it’s adding fuel to the rumors. Flair posted a photo of himself in the gym while flexing and it looks like he’s gotten in great shape since he last appeared on WWE TV.
Booker T noted on his podcast that he regularly talks to Flair and he is under the impression that Flair wants one more run.
Booker said, “My thing is this, and I’m going to let you take this into the break, Ric Flair is not the managerial type of guy. It’s just not his role. As well as, Ric Flair is not one of your guys that wants to be in the office, coming to work every day, wearing a suit and going into the office. That’s not Ric Flair. Ric Flair’s a party guy. That’s just his nature. You saw him on Triller, he’s all about having some fun.”
Booker continued, “Now my thing is this, I talk to Ric Flair on a regular — usually on a regular occasion, I don’t know how often I’m going to see him now, but Ric Flair told me, he said, ‘Book, I’m never going to retire.’ He said, ‘If I could be in that ring right now, that’s where I’d be.’ So I think Ric Flair may be looking at one last run.”
Flair was on WWE’s no-touch list because of his age and his health issues so it seems unlikely that he would ever be cleared to wrestle by any major wrestling promotion but anything is possible in the wrestling business.
Flair last wrestled for WWE in 2008 against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 24. That was meant to be his retirement but he continued wrestling when he jumped to TNA. His last match was in 2011.
