WWE Smackdown Results - April 2, 2021

WWE Smackdown Results – April 2, 2021 – Tonight’s WWE Smackdown begins with a look at what happened betweetn Daniel Bryan, Edge and Roman Reigns last week.

We’re live from the WWE ThunderDome at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, as Edge makes his way to the ring.

Edge says what happened at Fastlane and last week did not need to happen.  Maybe it did.  Maybe it was inevitable.  Maybe I was naive to think that I could make it to Wrestlemania without any road bumps, or roadkill since Daniel Bryan has weasled his way into his match at Wrestlemania.  If anyone could understand what Edge was going through, he thought Daniel would understand.  He meant what he said to Daniel about the reason why he came back.  He was excited for the possibility of teaming with Daniel at Fastlane but not Daniel.  I didn’t see Daniel coming because I was so focused on Roman.  If anyone should see an opportunist, it should be me.

Edge talks about the opportunities that Daniel suggested and they were so brave for Daniel.  Edge says after Adam Pearce’s decision last week, he got played.  I am mad at Daniel, but I have to thank him.  I had a lot of time for reflection and I looked in the mirror and I finally liked what I saw.  I saw the guy who comes out swinging and doing what he has to do when he is in a corner.  He finally saw the Rated R Superstar.

Why don’t we throw up the graphic of Adam Pearce’s masterpiece for Wrestlemania, the Triple Threat Match for the validation of his paycheck.  Way to go Adam.  I don’t think Adam understands the ramifications of what he did.  He doesn’t think Roman or Bryan understand the ramifications.  Did I snap after the chair shot from Daniel, the knee from Daniel, and the decision by Adam.  I woke up.  I am a man who Roman Reigns aspires to be.  I am a man who Daniel Bryan aspires to be.  I am a Hall of Famer and a Legend.  I am the ultimate opportunist and I am the Rated R Superstar!

Last week, when I held that cold steel chair and heard it crash into your bodies, it felt so good. I had you both for the Conchairto.  It is going to happen again and when it does, I won’t hesitate.

— We see Jey Uso and Daniel Bryan preparing for theri Street Fight Match as we go to commercial.

— We are back and Edge is walking and he is asked by Kayla Braxton about the street fight between Daniel Bryan and Jey Uso.  Kayla asks if he thinks Jey is there to take Bryan out.  Edge says if he is supposed to feel bad if Daniel is beaten senseless and he is not.  What if Daniel cannot make it to Wrestlemania, would he feel bad?  Edge says he would be overjoyed.

Chad Gable and Otis are in the ring and Chad says to look at Otis, his number one guy.  He has turned him into a force of nature with his mental acumen.  Alpha Academy is peaking at the right time.  We outshone our tag partners and next week, we will finish our journey and win the tag titles.  They will do it FOR THE ACADEMY.

Dolph Ziggler says this is what Wrestlemania is about and next week, we defend our titles against three teams that are not worthy.  Roode says tonight they get the job done.

Dominik says it has been a dream to share the ring with his father.  Rey says he cannot be prouder of the man Dominik has become.  He is looking forward to sharing the tag titles with his son.
