NXT Stars Reportedly Frustrated With COVID-19 Testing Protocols – There is growing frustration within NXT as it was previously reported to be about change and uncertainty backstage in NXT, but most recently it’s due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Last month for the first NXT TV show after NXT TakeOver 31, Fightful Select reported that the frustration in the company was due to production issues.
The media outlet reported today that the latest frustration from NXT stars is due to the illness. The report notes “there was a lot of frustration about NXT’s handling of COVID protocols heading into Halloween Havoc.”
As previously mentioned on the site, WWE had to pull Indi Hartwell from last week’s Halloween Havoc due to COVID concerns. The latest report goes on to note that several stars who they spoke with “were frustrated with how things have been affected for a story that many looked at in such a positive light.”
However, NXT stars did praise the company for being able to get Hartwell over without even having her on television. It was added that frustration was compounded when classes then resumed after the outbreak and followed up by having the same testing protocols kept in place instead of doing daily testing.
There was a recent outbreak of the illness in the developmental system. It was reported shortly thereafter that there was an investigation by Orlando’s COVID-19 Strike Team to look into several businesses that could be considered superspreader areas, which include the Amway Arena and WWE Performance Center.
