Yesterday, The Rock took to social media to vent frustration with a male cast member on the set of his new movie “Fast 8”, which The Rock wrapped filming today. Rock posted the following on Instagram:
“My female co-stars are always amazing and I love ’em. My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken s–t to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling – you’re right.”
It was then reported by TMZ.com that the actor Rock was referring to was Vin Diesel, a co-star and producer of the “Fast and Furious” franchise. TMZ noted Rock and Disel butted heads over creative decisions Diesel was making that did not sit well with Rock.
Rock and Diesel reportedly had a “secret’ meeting on set yesterday try and work out their beef, and TMZ noted tensions ran so high that it was “almost impossible” to continue filming, so the meeting took place.
TMZ is now reporting things didn’t go well in the meeting, and Rock and Diesel failed to resolve their issues. One source told TMZ that “it’s all about big egos.”
Diesel finished filming earlier this morning and left the set immediately after. In a speech, Diesel told the crew that he was leaving and said “Daddy’s gone,” apparently because he thinks of himself as a father figure on the set.
