WWE has announced that Bobby Lashley has entered concussion protocol after the spot in the Elimination Chamber match that led to his exit. Lashley was in one of the pods when Seth Rollins put Austin Theory through a pod. Lashley never entered the match and was helped out to the backstage area by WWE personnel.
Lashley’s exit from the match looks like something that could have been planned as a way to get him out of the match without getting pinned since the plan was for Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship. However, WWE rarely mentions concussions in their storyline injuries so this could be legitimate. We’ll pass along more info when we hear more.
Here is WWE’s statement on Lashley:
“Bobby Lashley has entered concussion protocol and will travel back to the United States under medical supervision to undergo additional evaluation.”
For anyone wondering, it is generally safe to fly after suffering a concussion but it’s highly recommended to wait until after symptoms subside or have a doctor with you if you do fly.
