A new report from Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer is giving fans an insight as to how WWE is now treating the Coronavirus pandemic.
On this past week’s WWE TV, it was mentioned on air that all of its Superstars were tested for COVID-19, but according to Meltzer that’s not the case.
WWE has been in the same spot for a few months now, filming every RAW and SmackDown at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando since their March 16 RAW. New this week for the shows saw NXT trainees and talent serving as fans for the shows.
The latest report from Dave states that WWE is no longer testing the talent specifically for COVID-19. Instead, they are just checking temperatures and asking superstars if they are experiencing any symptoms. Dave said, “Although it was hinted on the air that they were testing all talent for COVID-19, there was no testing done at all during the tapings this past week besides temperature readings and asking people if they didn’t feel well.”
A majority of WWE talent was surprised at this transition because both AEW and UFC are still testing anyone who enters the building for the virus. It is said that since WWE is so much bigger than AEW, they clearly have the time and resources to conduct these tests if they wanted.
