AJ Styles On If He’s Too Good For Shane McMahon Match at WrestleMania, Fan Criticism About The Match, Goldberg Vs. Brock Lesnar

AJ Styles spoke with Gorilla Position before his upcoming match against Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 33. He talks about if he’s too good for Shane McMahon at WrestleMania and fan criticism about the match.

You can also hear his comments in the embed video below:

“Well, first of all, at least you’re getting AJ Styles at WrestleMania, that’s a good thing. And Shane McMahon has been in the ring with some pretty high profile performers like, Kurt Angle, and that’s a match that is stuck in my head forever, that performance, and the fact that he goes all out when he gets in the ring- or out of the ring, on top of a cage. Ya know? The guy is crazy. So, Shane’s exciting to watch and not everybody’s been in the ring with Shane McMahon, so, that’s an opportunity that not many people had, that I may have the opportunity to get in the ring with him and I’m great with that, ya know? I want to be a part of it and for those who think that ‘Oh, this [match] isn’t going to be that good’ I love challenges, so does Shane McMahon, so bring it on.”

AJ Styles also shared his thoughts on part-time wrestlers working at WrestleMania, in particular the Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar match at this year’s show.

“I can tell you this. Goldberg, and what him and Brock have done together, have made sure that people are going to come and watch WrestleMania. They want to see this match, and if they have to come see them they also have to come to see me. And now I have the opportunity to impress them, while they’re there and I’ll make AJ fans or Shane McMahon fans out of them. That’s my job, and so, am I mad at these guys for being Superstars like, the ultimate, that everybody knows? Absolutely not. When they [said], ‘Oh, part-timers, yeah, [they] come in and do that.’ You know what? Let them be part-timers, if they can do that, then they have earned it and to tell you the truth, when they’re not here that’s more money in my pocket. So that’s not a bad thing, ya know? Let’s work together, I don’t care who’s on top, just as long as we’re all able to pay our bills.”
