WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts re-signs with WWE after wrapping up his multi-year tenure with All Elite Wrestling.
Appearing as a guest on The Nick Club Wrestling Happy Hour with host Nick Teodoro, the legendary wrestling icon confirmed that he is officially back under the WWE banner and working on new projects:
“Staying busy. Not in AEW anymore. Re-signed with WWE, doing some stuff for them and just enjoying life, man.”
While Roberts did not elaborate on the specific details of his new WWE contract or whether it involves an on-screen role, legend appearance deal, or ambassador duties, the announcement marks his formal return to the promotion where he achieved global stardom.
Critique Of AEW Creative And Lance Archer’s Booking
Roberts had been with AEW since 2020, serving primarily as the manager for “The Murderhawk Monster” Lance Archer. After confirming in July 2026 that his AEW contract had expired, Roberts made a surprise public appearance for WWE later that month, signing autographs and taking photos during SummerSlam Takeover festivities in Minneapolis.
When asked about the key operational and backstage differences between the two promotions, Roberts candidly pointed to booking philosophy and urged AEW President Tony Khan to give his roster more creative freedom:
“Creative, number one. No doubt. Tony Khan needs to loosen up the reins a little bit. He’s got a good product. He’s got a lot of talent in there. I think his talent could be used better.”
Roberts also expressed disappointment regarding how his former client was utilized throughout his run in AEW:
“He has never gotten the break he deserves. He really hasn’t. It’s a damn shame.”
