WWE Reportedly Has Backup U.S. City In Mind For Crown Jewel 2026 Amid Saudi Arabia Tensions

While WWE continues to publicly promote Crown Jewel 2026 as taking place in Saudi Arabia, reports indicate that the company is actively keeping its options open behind the scenes due to ongoing regional security concerns.

Despite the recent escalation of violence in the Middle East—including a missile strike targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh over the weekend—WWE’s official plan remains to host the premium live event at the Mohammed Abdo Arena on Saturday, November 7. However, a contingency plan is reportedly on standby if traveling internationally becomes unviable.

Contingency Plan in Place for U.S. Location

According to a report from Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com, WWE officials have designated an alternate host venue within the United States should circumstances force a last-minute relocation.

  • Current Status: “As of 10 AM ET today, Riyadh is still the plan for Crown Jewel,” Alvarez noted. “Although there is a backup city in the US that is on the table.”
  • Undisclosed Location: The specific U.S. city being held as a backup option has not yet been identified publicly, and no official trigger has been pulled to move the event.

Public Promotion Continues as Scheduled

Despite internal contingency planning, WWE’s public marketing push remains fully centered on Riyadh:

  • Triple H Social Media Push: On Tuesday morning, Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque unveiled a new Crown Jewel 2026 promotional poster featuring Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, Liv Morgan, and Chelsea Green, explicitly listing Riyadh with a 12:00 PM ET start time.
  • On-Screen Advertisements: The October 12 episode of WWE RAW heavily advertised the Saudi Arabia location with on-screen graphics and match announcements.
  • Confirmed Bouts: WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns vs. Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn (Men’s Crown Jewel Championship) and WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan vs. WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green (Women’s Crown Jewel Championship).

As of October 13, 2026, WWE maintains that Crown Jewel will proceed in Riyadh, but having an emergency U.S. site ready ensures the promotion can pivot quickly if safety protocols dictate a venue change.
