In what will go down as one of the most wildly spectacular ladder matches in WWE history, Penta defeated Bron Breakker, CM Punk, Kevin Owens, Trick Williams, and Je’Von Evans to win the Men’s Money in the Bank briefcase at Money in the Bank in New Orleans.
The match erupted into pure anarchy from the opening bell. High-flying action and bone-crunching metal collisions filled the arena early as Evans launched himself over a ladder to the floor while Kevin Owens, CM Punk, and Penta traded brutal shots at ringside.
Bron Breakker proved to be an absolute force of destruction throughout the entire contest. Breakker hurled Owens spine-first into a cornered ladder, pressed Penta high into the air for a Gorilla Press Slam, and delivered a string of punishing spears around the ringside area—including a double spear that sent both Punk and Owens crashing through the timekeeper’s barricade.
The physical drama reached a boiling point when Breakker speared Je’Von Evans through a barricade, forcing RAW General Manager Adam Pearce and medical personnel to load Evans onto a stretcher and into an ambulance backstage. In a stunning turn of events, the ambulance drove back into the arena moments later, with Evans jumping out of the driver’s seat to re-enter the match to a thunderous ovation.
After taking out his opponents, Evans scaled a towering ladder beneath the briefcase. Realizing the ladder was positioned too far away to reach the contract, Evans was left stranded in mid-air.
Sensing the opportunity, Bron Breakker viciously shoved the ladder over, sending Evans crashing headfirst off the heights and smashing violently through the roof of the ambulance at ringside in a sickening impact that left the entire New Orleans crowd in stunned silence.
The terrifying spot completely altered the momentum of the main event, clearing the path for the brutal final exchanges between Breakker and Penta.
With Breakker and Penta battling high atop the center ladder, a second ladder was bridged from the middle turnbuckle. In the match’s defining moment, Penta hooked Breakker and executed a breathtaking, high-risk Mexican Destroyer off the ladder through the bridged steel below, completely neutralizing Breakker.
With no competitors left standing, Penta slowly scaled the rungs alone, unlatching the Money in the Bank briefcase to secure the defining victory of his WWE career.
