Positive Update on R-Truth Injury After SmackDown Match Stoppage

R-Truth appears to have dodged a major injury following a scary and abrupt halt to his match during the October 16 episode of WWE SmackDown.

Truth’s match against Damian Priest was brought to a premature end after Truth appeared to sustain an injury while executing a top-rope dropkick.

Positive Early Update From Medical Evaluation

While the exact nature of the injury has not been officially disclosed, Wrestling Observer Live’s Bryan Alvarez offered an encouraging update on Sunday, noting that the veteran competitor is doing well but will undergo a precautionary checkup.

“Don’t have any details other than Truth appears to be all right and will be evaluated next week,” Alvarez reported. “All the best to him on a quick recovery.”

Fallout From Damian Priest’s Betrayal

Friday night’s bout marked R-Truth’s first televised in-ring action since Damian Priest viciously turned on him during the September 11 episode of SmackDown in Mexico City. The two had previously teamed up in an unsuccessful bid to challenge The War Raiders for the AAA World Tag Team Championships, leading directly to Priest’s post-match assault and the subsequent fiery rivalry.

As of now, WWE has not announced whether the injury will force R-Truth to miss any additional time in the ring.
