Former NXT Champion Kevin Owens is heading back to the gold-and-black brand for a special appearance as part of WWE NXT’s upcoming tour stops in Canada.
WWE officially announced that Owens will appear live at the NXT live event scheduled for Saturday, October 17, at the Slush Puppie Centre in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada.
The Quebec native’s return to NXT marks a special homecoming for the veteran star, as WWE NXT embarks on its first tour through Canada in seven years. Along with Owens, advertised talent for the Gatineau event includes Grayson Waller, Tony D’Angelo, Cruz Montana, Zaria, Shiloh Hill, and Vanity Project (Jackson Drake, Ricky Smokes, and Brad Baylor).
While Owens captured the NXT Championship during a dominant run in 2015, he has not stepped inside an NXT ring since November 2019 at NXT TakeOver: WarGames. On that night, Owens served as the surprise final teammate alongside Tommaso Ciampa, Keith Lee, and Donovan Dijak in a victorious effort against The Undisputed ERA.
Though Owens continues to feature prominently on WWE’s main roster on Friday Night SmackDown, his inclusion in the Quebec live event gives local fans a rare opportunity to see the former NXT Champion return to his developmental roots.
