An official update regarding an injury scare for Jack Perry has emerged after the star took several punishing bumps during his hard-hitting match against Kyle Fletcher on AEW Dynamite.
The back-and-forth battle featured a series of high-impact maneuvers, including a powerbomb into the ring apron frame and a dangerous top-rope brainbuster finish. The brutal nature of the spots sparked immediate concern regarding Perry’s physical condition among viewers and backstage staff.
Backstage Update Clarifies Perry’s Physical Condition
Addressing the situation on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez provided an update on Perry’s status after speaking with sources backstage:
“Hey, you want a scoop? I did hear that Jack Perry was telling people that he was sore. If you watch that match, he’s lucky he’s only sore. I thought he was going to get legitimately decapitated when he took that powerbomb into the ring frame. Absolutely brutal.”
Despite the severe impact absorbed throughout the bout, there is currently no indication that Perry suffered a structural injury or will require time off.
Following his victory over Perry, Fletcher immediately shifted his attention toward the top of the card. Calling out AEW World Champion Will Ospreay, Fletcher formally challenged his former stablemate to a title match at the upcoming Full Gear pay-per-view.
