The battle for AEW’s top prize is officially set for AEW Full Gear, as Will Ospreay will defend his title against long-time rival Kyle Fletcher in a marquee championship clash.
The high-stakes confrontation took center stage on the October 28 Fright Night edition of AEW Dynamite. After securing a hard-fought singles victory over Jack Perry, Fletcher was joined in the ring by Don Callis Family stablemates Mark Davis and Jake Doyle to lay out his argument for a world title shot.
Deep Rivalry Reaches The Championship Stage
Fletcher made a compelling case for the opportunity, reminding Ospreay of his victory over him at Full Gear 2024. He also pointed to a recent tag team victory alongside Kevin Knight over Ospreay and Adam Copeland as definitive proof that he has the champion’s number.
AEW management quickly formalized the match for next month’s pay-per-view. While Ospreay earned a victory in their most recent singles meeting inside a Steel Cage at Revolution 2025, Fletcher’s history of success against his former United Empire ally makes him one of the most dangerous threats to the current championship reign.
Collision Course Before The Pay-Per-View
Before they lock horns for the title, both men must first survive the brutal Men’s Blood & Guts match on the November 4 episode of Dynamite. Fletcher will represent the Don Callis Family, while Ospreay aligns with The Young Bucks, Adam Copeland, Darby Allin, and Steven Borden in a match that promises to leave both competitors battered ahead of their pay-per-view main event.
AEW Full Gear takes place on Saturday, November 14, 2026, live from the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Arizona, airing live on PPV and Max in the United States, as well as via MyAEW internationally.
