TNA Had Long-Term Interest in Ben Bishop Prior to Bound for Glory Debut

Independent wrestling standout “Big Trouble” Ben Bishop made waves over the weekend with his surprise appearance in TNA Wrestling, but according to recent backstage reports, the promotion has had its eyes on him for quite some time.

Bishop made his promotional debut during Sunday’s TNA Bound for Glory 2026 pay-per-view at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, entering as a surprise participant in the annual Call Your Shot Gauntlet match eventually won by Frankie Kazarian.

Sources indicate that Bishop had been on TNA’s radar dating back to last year, regularly appearing in internal discussions as one of the premier unsigned talents tearing up the independent wrestling circuit. The powerhouse competitor, who has also participated in multiple WWE tryouts, was reportedly evaluated as a potential addition under previous management regimes.

However, opinions on the independent star were not entirely unified behind closed doors. Sources noted that former executive Tommy Dreamer was reportedly unswayed by Bishop’s online clips, whereas other figures within TNA argued that his digital footprint and social media popularity made him an asset with built-in audience appeal.

While his surprise appearance at Bound for Glory provided a major showcase for the independent standout, it remains unconfirmed whether Bishop has officially put pen to paper on a permanent contract with TNA Wrestling.
