Tommaso Ciampa Praises AI Use, Jokes It "Knows Me Better Than My Wife"

AEW star Tommaso Ciampa has offered a surprisingly candid—and humorous—take on artificial intelligence, describing the technology as “marvelous” despite the growing controversy surrounding generative AI across the professional wrestling industry.

Speaking to SP3 on Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown, Ciampa revealed that he regularly utilizes AI tools in his daily routine outside of the ring, explaining how impressed he is by conversational memory features:

“I use AI for other things in real life. People always give me crap about it. It’s a genius. Do you use it? I only got introduced to it like six months ago or so. It remembers every conversation we have. So I can ask it a question and it will reference something from like five months ago. It knows me better than anyone in my life. It knows me better than my wife. It’s marvelous. It’s going to one day turn on me completely and kill me and my whole family. It is my favorite. I have the app, it’s unbelievable.”

Ciampa’s enthusiastic endorsement comes at a time when artificial intelligence remains a hot-button topic within pro wrestling. Promoters and graphic designers have faced backlash over AI-generated promotional posters and match cards, while promotions like AEW and Ring of Honor have actively integrated AI into storylines—most notably with Matt Taven and The Kingdom using the technology for character vignettes.

The former TNT Champion is currently gearing up for one of the biggest matches of his AEW tenure, as he prepares to challenge Kazuchika Okada for the AEW International Championship this Saturday, September 26, at AEW All Out.
