Matt Cardona Shares Video Footage Revealing Exact Moment He Tore Triceps On WWE Main Event

Reigning indie icon and WWE star Matt Cardona has released video footage pinpointing the exact moment he suffered a torn triceps during a recent match against Kit Wilson on WWE Main Event.

Cardona took to social media to break down the seemingly routine maneuver that resulted in his injury.

“I Knew I Tore My Tricep” — Cardona Breaks Down The Sequence

Cardona explained that he felt an immediate sensation in his arm after executing a springboard dropkick off the second rope, though he initially attempted to shake it off given how frequently he performs the move.

“Here’s the footage of me tearing my tricep during a match against Kit Wilson,” Cardona wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “I hit my dropkick off the second rope and something didn’t feel right. But there’s no way I could hurt myself on a move I’ve done hundreds of times…right?”

As the match progressed, subsequent physical interactions confirmed that he had sustained severe muscle damage.

“Then I closelined him over the top rope and that felt weird too,” Cardona added. “Once I grabbed the rope for my baseball slide, I knew I tore my tricep.”

Surgery & Rehabilitation Outlook

Cardona has since undergone successful surgery to repair the torn triceps tendon and has officially begun his physical rehabilitation protocol. Despite the unexpected physical setback, “The Indy God” maintained an optimistic tone regarding his eventual return to action.

“Injuries suck, but they are part of the job,” Cardona posted following the procedure. “I’m recovering after surgery and start rehab today. I’ll be back. I’M NOT FINISHED.”

No official timetable has been provided for his ring return, though recovery from a surgical triceps repair typically ranges from four to six months.
