Kelani Jordan Reveals WWE Locker Room Reaction To NXT Women’s Championship Win

New NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan has opened up about the backstage reception she received after capturing the title, revealing what both peers and doubters had to say once she returned through the curtain.

Jordan captured the top prize of the women’s division at NXT Heatwave 2026 on August 30, defeating Kendal Grey in a match that ended when Jordan sent Grey headfirst into an exposed turnbuckle before executing a moonsault for the pinfall.

Locker Room Respect And A Warning To Doubters

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Jordan addressed the immediate reaction inside the WWE locker room following her title victory. She admitted that even individuals who may not count themselves among her supporters acknowledged her ring work and path to the top.

“To my face, everyone has said that I’ve earned it. Even the people who may not be my biggest fans, they did say I earned it, and they can’t deny my ability in the ring and my journey to get here,” Jordan said.

However, Jordan made it abundantly clear that while people have praised her directly, she expects that same respect to extend when she isn’t in the room.

“But behind my back? I don’t know. If I find out, it’s not gonna be good,” she added.

Support From WWE Main Roster Stars

The reactions to her victory extended beyond the NXT locker room in Orlando, as several prominent WWE main roster talent reached out to offer support and congratulations.

  • Main Roster Outreach: Jordan revealed she received personal messages from Roxanne Perez, Maxxine Dupri, and Chelsea Green.
  • Public Recognition: Kiana James also gave Jordan a public shout-out following the championship win.

“I got messages from other main roster people, like Roxanne. Maxxine messaged me. Also, Chelsea Green messaged me. It’s so cool—they’ve been through what I’m going through, and they reached out to me. And Kiana James shouted me out also!” Jordan shared.

Though her title victory came via controversial means, Jordan isn’t questioning her spot at the top of the division—and based on the direct feedback from the locker room, her peers aren’t questioning it either.
