Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is continuing to throw his weight behind the next generation of Anoaʻi family talent, sending a public sign of support to NXT’s newest powerhouse, Zilla Fatu.
Ahead of the August 25 episode of NXT, WWE’s official NXT Instagram page posted a video showing Fatu training in the gym to promote his upcoming title match. The Rock commented on the post, writing:
“Time to eat fam.” 👊
The endorsement comes at a pivotal moment for Fatu, who made an immediate impact upon his NXT debut on August 11 by ambushing Grayson Waller and Cruz Montana during a number-one contender’s match. Fatu now steps into the spotlight this Sunday, August 30, at NXT Heatwave, where he challenges NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo, Waller, and Montana in a high-stakes Fatal 4-Way Match for the title.
WWE Adds The Rock to Hawaii Talent Tryout Graphics
Beyond supporting Fatu online, The Rock’s presence on official WWE promotional materials has sparked widespread fan interest.
WWE will head to Honolulu, Hawaii, in October 2026 for a two-night live event tour at the Blaisdell Arena on October 16 and 17—marking the company’s first return to the islands since 2019. Alongside the house show dates, WWE will host a major talent tryout at the venue.
While initial promotional material featured Roman Reigns and The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) as special guests to headline the tryout campaign, WWE deleted and updated the graphics to prominently feature Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson alongside his family members.
It remains unconfirmed whether Johnson will make an on-camera appearance or attend in an executive capacity as a member of TKO’s Board of Directors to scout prospects. However, his inclusion alongside Reigns and The Usos has fueled continuous speculation regarding his eventual return to WWE programming.
