The show opened with Vic Joseph and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T welcoming everyone. A quick pre‑show arrival package rolled, showing Rey Fenix, EK Prosper, Tony D’Angelo, Kendal Grey, and Wren Sinclair making their way into the building.
Dion Lennox then headed to the ring for the first match of the night. Saquon Shugars followed right after, locked in and ready.
Weaponized Steel Cage Match: Dion Lennox vs. Saquon Shugars
Dion Lennox started the fight by hurling a trash can straight at Saquon Shugars. Saquon answered with a sharp chop and a heavy right hand, but Lennox grabbed a steel chair and hammered away at him. Lennox smashed Shugars into the cage wall again and again, then pulled off his belt and whipped Saquon across the back.
Lennox drilled him with another right hand and covered for a two count. He charged, but ran into a big boot. Lennox recovered fast and dragged Saquon’s legs into the steel steps, leaving Shugars screaming in pain. Lennox followed with a bodyslam that rattled the ring.
Saquon finally found an opening and cracked Lennox with a trash can. He climbed up and hit a missile dropkick, blasting Lennox while he was trapped inside the can.
Saquon cracked Lennox with a steel chair, but Lennox answered by driving Shugars’ whole body straight through that same chair. Saquon tried to fire back, only for Lennox to smash him into the steel again. Shugars grabbed a kendo stick and swung for the ribs, but Lennox cut him off with a stiff right hand.
Lennox took the kendo stick and kept punishing Saquon with it. Shugars finally turned the tide by throwing Lennox into the cage wall, bouncing him off the steel and tossing him around the ring. Saquon hit a high crossbody right to Lennox’s face.
Saquon hit Lennox with a backbreaker and followed by driving Lennox face‑first into the steel steps, getting a count of two. Lennox answered with a spinebuster that smashed Shugars straight through a trash can, but Saquon still kicked out.
Shugars fired back with kendo stick shots that dropped Lennox. Dion responded by throwing a steel chair at Saquon’s knees, cutting him down. Lennox pulled a table into the middle of the ring and set it up, then dragged Shugars to the top rope.
Saquon fought back and cracked Lennox with a steel chair. He tried to powerbomb Lennox off the top, but his injured knee buckled, leaving him in trouble again.
Saquon superkicked Lennox while he was trapped inside a trash can, snapping the table underneath them in the process. Lennox crumbled, and Saquon climbed the cage. He reached the top, looked down, and launched himself with a high crossbody that crushed Lennox. Saquon covered him and got the three count.

Backstage: Tony D’Angelo Interview
Blake Howard caught up with Tony D’Angelo backstage. D’Angelo talked about how things changed before Zilla Fatu and Cruz Montana signed their contracts, saying it had been one big PLE after another for him. He bragged about being the only NXT Grand Slam Champion in history, calling it a badge nobody else can claim.
D’Angelo looked back at putting down Oba Femi, calling him the future of WWE and a major milestone in his run. He spoke about the prestige of the NXT Championship and why every man in the locker room is chasing it. D’Angelo said he beat three men to win the title, and he’ll do it again to keep it.
Nattie & Jaida Parker Face‑Off
Nattie stood in the ring and said she came to NXT for one reason — to fight Jaida Parker. She talked about seeing something special in Parker, something worth testing, and something she knew she could knock off her a**. Nattie called Parker “wasted potential,” saying she looked like a million bucks in the ring but wasn’t living up to it. She claimed she was the best thing that ever happened to Parker because she gave her attention when nobody else did.
Jaida Parker’s music hit and she walked straight to the ring. Parker said Nattie had been trying to prove she was soft and didn’t belong in NXT. She fired back by saying she didn’t think Nattie was special at all. Parker said she could see right through her, insisting none of this was out of kindness. She told Nattie she didn’t need her and that Nattie should be thanking her instead.
Nattie cut her off and said she didn’t want a regular match. She wanted to run it back in a submission match at NXT Heatwave. She punctuated it by calling Parker a b*****.

Kam Hendrix vs. Keanu Carver
Kam Hendrix and Keanu Carver locked up to start the match. Carver quickly rolled Hendrix into an inside cradle, but Hendrix kicked out and grabbed a side headlock in the center of the ring. Carver powered out and hit a suplex, then followed with a running crossbody that knocked Hendrix flat.
Hendrix answered by drilling Carver with a clothesline in the corner, taking full control. He hit a showtime kick that staggered Carver. Keanu tried to fight back, but Hendrix chopped him across the back. Carver finally threw Hendrix around and blasted him with a running shoulder block that sent Hendrix spilling to the outside.
Hendrix poked Carver in the eye to stop the momentum. Mason Rook jumped in behind the referee’s back and dropped Carver. Back in the ring, Carver recovered enough to catch Hendrix and hit a fisherman’s suplex, scoring the three count.
Winner: Keanu Carver
Kelani Jordan Vignette
A vignette aired for Kelani Jordan. She talked about how Oba Femi and others followed the path she laid out, saying her plan led them to success. Kelani said she never needed a famous last name to get ahead, and nobody else should either. She closed by saying no one does it like ’Lani — and that was the whole message.
The show cuts to a commercial break. We will be back for more WWE NXT results for August 25, 2026.
Zilla Fatu Vignette
After the break, a taped vignette for Zilla Fatu aired. He talked about carrying his family legacy every single day, but made it clear he plans to earn his success on his own terms. Zilla said he isn’t relying on his name or his bloodline — he’s building something for himself. He closed by promising to win the NXT Championship at Heatwave.
Zaria vs. Kali Armstrong
This match came out of Robert Stone’s office last week, with Kali Armstrong complaining she never gets title shots and Zaria complaining she gets too many. The stakes were simple — if Armstrong won, she’d be added to the Women’s North American Title/Speed Title Unification match between Zaria and Wren Sinclair at Heatwave.
They locked up right away, and with both women being similar in size, it turned into a strong tie‑up. They traded shoulder blocks until Zaria scored the first knockdown. She scoop slammed Armstrong, and Armstrong answered with a slam of her own. They went into a test of strength, with Zaria forcing Armstrong down and throwing her into the corner for strikes.
Zaria took control with slams and splashes. She hit a back‑body drop and went for a suplex, but Armstrong countered and fired off jabs that knocked Zaria off her feet. Armstrong clotheslined her over the ropes and hit a crossbody on the outside.
Back in the ring, Armstrong drove her shoulders into Zaria’s midsection in the corner. She grabbed a headlock, and they traded reversals until Zaria hit a belly‑to‑back suplex and dropped elbows. Zaria hit a big boot and climbed up top. Armstrong joined her, and they traded shots until Armstrong landed a huge superplex.
They slugged it out in the middle of the ring. Armstrong caught Zaria with a powerbomb for two. Zaria answered with a pump kick but couldn’t get a cover. She threw Armstrong with a German suplex, but Armstrong dodged the follow‑up spear. Armstrong went for the Kali Connection, but Zaria cut her down with a second spear.
They scrambled after that, trading counters, until Armstrong caught Zaria with a rollup and held her down for the three count. Armstrong is now officially added to the Heatwave title match with Wren Sinclair.
Winner: Kali Armstrong
Kendal Grey, William Sawalich & Wren Sinclair
Inside the Backstage Medical Playset, William Sawalich was standing with Kendal Grey as she received an update on her condition. The doctor told her she was medically cleared, but strongly advised against wrestling. Kendal brushed it off and said she could go anyway. The doctor stepped out, and Wren Sinclair walked in.
Wren and Kendal chatted with Sawalich for a moment, keeping things light despite the situation, before the segment wrapped.
We will return after a break with more results from the August 25, 2026 episode of WWE NXT.
Dorian Van Dux, Noam Dar, Romeo Moreno & Sean Legacy vs. BirthRight (Channing Lorenzo, Charlie Dempsey, Lexis King & Uriah Connors)
Charlie Dempsey and Noam Dar opened the match with a smooth technical exchange, trading holds, roll‑throughs, and quick pin attempts. Romeo Moreno tagged in, then immediately brought in Dorian Van Dux. Lexis King entered and got arm‑dragged across the ring. Sean Legacy slipped in with a blind tag for a quick cover before Van Dux returned.
Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo came in next, only to get chopped repeatedly by Moreno. Uriah Connors tagged in and dropped Moreno with a sharp dropkick. Moreno reached for an ankle lock, Stacks tried to break it, and Dar jumped in — giving us double ankle locks for a moment. Van Dux and Legacy got distracted by Ariana Grace at ringside, and Connors yanked Moreno out of the ring for a superkick.
Dempsey gutwrenched Moreno while Booker T talked about his training “in the orient.” Stacks followed by throwing Moreno into the ring post. BirthRight isolated Moreno in their corner, tagging in and out to wear him down. Moreno finally fought through the numbers and reached Van Dux for the tag.
Van Dux cleared the ring until Stacks caught him with a quick kick. Van Dux responded by tossing Stacks over the top rope onto the rest of BirthRight. Van Dux then leaped out onto them and threw Stacks back inside for Legacy to hit a 450, but King broke the pin.
Dar tagged in and traded shots with Dempsey. Dar hit a suplex into an armbar, but Connors crushed him with a swanton. Legacy took out Connors, Stacks took out Legacy, Van Dux hit Stacks, King hit Van Dux with a blockbuster, and Moreno dove onto everyone on the outside.
Van Dux boosted Legacy off the ropes for another dive onto BirthRight. Back in the ring, Dar and Dempsey kept swinging. Dempsey caught him, hit an overhead slam, and secured the win for BirthRight.
Backstage: Robert Stone, Keanu Carver & Shiloh Hill
Robert Stone was backstage checking over everything for the Heatwave Summit, making sure the lineup and timing were locked in. Keanu Carver walked by and told Stone that the referee’s decision was final, keeping his tone sharp as he moved on.
Before Stone could react, Shiloh Hill stepped into the frame. He asked Stone for a match with Naraku, pointing to the mist incident as the reason he wanted it. Stone didn’t hesitate — he granted the match on the spot.

AAA World Cruiserweight Championship: Rey Fenix (c) vs. EK Prosper
They locked up and Prosper immediately rolled Fenix into a quick cover for a count of two. Fenix popped up, hit a sharp kick, and reached for a backslide, but Prosper countered into an armdrag. Prosper landed on his feet, only for Fenix to stop him cold with an open‑handed strike. Prosper fired back with a dropkick to the face that sent Fenix to the floor, then hit a moonsault off the ringpost to wipe him out on the outside.
Back in the ring, Fenix turned things around with a kick that dropped Prosper. He chopped him in the corner and tried for a suplex, but Prosper blocked it and drilled him with a DDT for two. Prosper answered Fenix’s chops with his own open‑handed shots, but Fenix rolled him into a crucifix for another two count.
Fenix locked Prosper in a submission, then released it so they could trade strikes. They hit the ropes and collided with a double clothesline, leaving both down. They got up swinging, and Fenix hit a dropkick that stunned Prosper. Fenix tried for a powerbomb, but Prosper countered into an X‑Factor.
Prosper climbed and dropped a leg from the top rope, but Fenix kicked out. Prosper followed with a Michinoku Driver, but still couldn’t finish him. Fenix walked the ropes and kicked Prosper in the head, then hit a high crossbody for two. He picked up the pace and went for a frog splash, but Prosper kicked out again.
Fenix rolled out of the corner looking for a cutter, but Prosper countered into a suplex. Prosper threw him off the ropes, and Fenix caught him with the cutter on the rebound. Fenix charged with a high knee and set Prosper up for the Mexican Muscle Buster. Prosper shoved him off, so Fenix blasted him with another kick.
They climbed up top and Prosper hit a standing superrana from the ropes. He went for a moonsault, but Fenix moved and sent him crashing into the corner. Fenix grabbed him, locked in the Mexican Muscle Buster, and hit it clean. He covered Prosper and retained the title.
Winner: Rey Fenix
Backstage: Sam Mayer, Myles Borne & Tavion Heights
Sam Mayer, still in full NASCAR gear as always, was backstage talking with Myles Borne and Tavion Heights. Heights was fired up about their Heatwave matches and pacing like he couldn’t sit still. Borne told him to relax and save the energy for Sunday.
Hank Walker and Tank Ledger walked in next, saying they were only there because they love NASCAR. They congratulated Borne and Heights on their momentum and suggested that after Heatwave, the champs give them a Tag Title shot. Heights didn’t commit, but he told them they’d see them around.
From there, the show moved to the ring for the Heatwave Summit.

Heatwave Summit
Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair kicked off the “summit” by heading to the ring. Grey took the mic and said she heard everything Kelani Jordan has been saying. She made it clear she earned the NXT Women’s Championship and called herself “the benchmark.” Grey reminded everyone she beat Nattie, she beat Lola Vice, and she never took a day off. She said she’s a fighting champion and she’s proud of it.
Kelani Jordan came out next and said “The Standout” is taking the title from her. Sinclair jumped in and said Heatwave is in her home state of Texas, so she and Grey are walking out with wins. Zaria then arrived and said she was winning instead. Kali Armstrong followed and said she already beat both of them, so she’s the one leaving with gold.
Every single person had a mic — including Grayson Waller, who wandered out wearing a “Nepo Uce” shirt. He looked at the women and said, “Ladies, nice to look at, hard to listen to.” Waller said he hopes they all do well at Heatwave, but the world will only be talking about one thing: Grayson Waller becoming NXT Champion.
Tony D’Angelo came out and said Waller is going to do what he always does — disappoint. Then Cruz Montana popped up in the crowd and said he came to throw hands. A massive brawl broke out between everyone.
Zilla Fatu arrived as the women finished fighting. He climbed the ringpost and launched himself onto the NXT Championship match field. He grabbed the NXT Title, posed with it, and that’s how the show ended.
–– Here is what’s in store for tonight’s show ––
- AAA World Cruiserweight Championship: Rey Fenix (c) vs. EK Prosper
- Weaponized Steel Cage Match: Saquon Shugars vs. Dion Lennox
- Kali Armstrong vs. ZARIA (If Armstrong wins, she gets added to the title unification match at Heatwave)
- Sean Legacy, Noam Dar, Romeo Morena, & Dorian Van Dux vs. BirthRight (Lexis King, Uriah Connors, Stacks Lorenzo, & Charlie Dempsey)
NXT Preview – August 25
Saquon Shugars and Dion Lennox step into the cage weeks after DarkState removed Shugars from the group. Lennox already holds a singles win over Shugars from earlier this month. Shugars now looks to even the score, while Lennox hopes this match closes the book on their time together.
Rey Fenix defends the AAA Cruiserweight Championship against EK Prosper. Prosper earned the title shot by winning last week’s four‑way over La Parka, Romeo Moreno, and Tristan Angels. Fenix also wrestled on Monday’s RAW, beating Dragon Lee to secure his match against Penta at Sunday Night’s Main Event. Tonight, he must keep his momentum while protecting his championship.
Romeo Moreno teams with Noam Dar, Sean Legacy, and Dorian Van Dux to face Birthright’s Lexis King, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, Uriah Connors, and Charlie Dempsey. Birthright tried to control the narrative last week, and tonight they look to impose their will again. Moreno’s side brings a mix of styles and personalities into a match that could shift momentum for both groups.
Kali Armstrong challenges Zaria for the NXT Women’s North American Championship. If Armstrong wins, Heatwave becomes a three‑way title match. Wren Sinclair is already scheduled to face Zaria in a unification match, and Armstrong’s victory would change the entire layout of the division heading into the event.
