Roman Reigns is reportedly being listed as a heel internally in WWE, adding more context to the recent breakdown of his relationship with The Bloodline.
According to False Finish, Reigns currently has a heel designation behind the scenes. The report comes shortly after the August 17 episode of WWE RAW, where his control over his family began to fall apart.
During the closing segment, Roman Reigns attempted to control Jacob Fatu while also dealing with Solo Sikoa. Fatu initially followed Roman’s orders and attacked Solo, but Reigns repeatedly stopped him and took control of the situation.
Roman then turned his attention to The Usos. He placed Ula Fala necklaces around Jimmy and Jey, referred to them as his “made men” and celebrated with them. Jacob remained nearby, but did not appear comfortable with the situation.
The situation quickly changed when LA Knight arrived. Roman ordered The Usos to hold Knight while Solo attacked him. However, Solo suddenly turned on Roman and hit him with a Samoan Spike.
Knight then joined the attack and stopped Roman from hitting a Superman Punch before delivering the BFT. Jacob watched the confrontation without intervening. He did not help Roman or The Usos, and footage after RAW showed Fatu eventually leaving the ring alone.
Roman Reigns’ WWE Heel Status Adds Context
Roman’s reported internal heel status makes the recent Bloodline developments even more significant. Rather than simply being portrayed as a leader struggling to keep his family together, WWE now appears to be positioning Reigns as the villain in the ongoing story.
His actions on RAW showed a clear desire to maintain control over The Bloodline, while Solo and Jacob both showed signs of moving away from him. Solo directly attacked Roman, while Jacob chose not to get involved when Roman was left vulnerable.
The development also marks an important change for Reigns following his extended run as a more sympathetic figure. After spending considerable time in a role closer to a babyface, the former Tribal Chief is reportedly back on the heel side internally.
With The Bloodline continuing to fracture around him, Roman’s next move could determine how the story develops. For now, WWE’s reported internal classification suggests that Reigns is once again being viewed as one of the company’s villains.
