In late 2025, NXT star Kelani Jordan held the TNA Knockouts World Championship, crossing promotional lines to carry one of professional wrestling’s most historic women’s titles.
Reflecting on that high-profile run during an appearance on Off The Ropes, Jordan explained how stepping into a new environment and managing the championship responsibilities completely transformed her mindset and self-assurance.
“Everyone’s Not Your Friend”: The Turning Point in TNA
During the interview, Jordan contrasted her initial run as the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion with her time atop the TNA Knockouts division.
“I feel going to TNA really helped my confidence. I got the title in hostile territory, but I only just felt my confidence just went from here to here. When I was the North American Champion, I was more of the girl who was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m just so happy to be here…’ When I got kicked out of the locker room, that is when the light turned on. I’m like, ‘Oh, alright. Everyone’s not your friend and that’s okay.’ But, to be the best, you gotta beat the best. So, I just feel like being the Knockouts Champion was a really big turning point in my career confidence-wise and yeah, just realization like, ‘Hey, everyone’s not your friend.’”
The Unmatched Depth of the NXT Women’s Division
The evolution and depth of the NXT women’s locker room have earned consistent praise across the industry, receiving public endorsements from NXT overseer Shawn Michaels and WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque.
Jordan echoed those sentiments, pointing to former NXT standouts who have seamlessly transitioned to mainstream success while teasing that even more talent is waiting in the wings.
“The women are absolutely dominating and it’s so cool to see because even the people who were in NXT before me; Roxy, Lyra (Valkyria), Tiffany (Stratton), all these people are crushing it on the main roster and it’s just cool to see the new wave of people coming in. Everyone is just killing it and I think there’s even girls behind me who are ready for TV who people haven’t seen yet so yeah, the women’s division is absolutely crushing it.”
Looking ahead, Jordan will attempt to add more gold to her resume at NXT Heatwave, where she is set to challenge Kendal Grey for the NXT Women’s Championship.
