During the August 31 episode of WWE RAW, WWE officially announced that qualifying matches for the 2026 Money in the Bank Premium Live Event will kick off on next week’s broadcast.
The tournament victories will earn superstars a spot in the iconic ladder matches set for Saturday, October 10, 2026, live from the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Reflecting On Last Year’s Briefcase Winners
The announcement brings renewed focus to the high-stakes briefcases, following a chaotic period for both of last year’s Money in the Bank winners.
At the 2025 event, Naomi and Seth Rollins captured the respective briefcases, though neither held their eventual championships for long:
- Naomi: Cashed in her contract 36 days later at Evolution, interrupting a match between Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY before pinning SKY to win the Women’s World Championship. Naomi was later forced to vacate the title due to her pregnancy.
- Seth Rollins: Cashed in 56 days after winning the briefcase, launching a surprise attack on CM Punk to capture the World Heavyweight Championship. Rollins was subsequently forced to vacate the belt after sustaining a severe injury.
Stacked Lineup Set For September 7 WWE RAW
In addition to the start of the qualifying matches, next week’s show will feature a major championship bout that could reshape the division heading into October.
The announced lineup for next week’s broadcast includes:
- Women’s World Championship Match: Liv Morgan defends her title against Stephanie Vaquer.
- Money in the Bank Qualifiers: The first set of qualifying matches for the 2026 Money in the Bank ladder matches.
