Nic Nemeth Appears to Criticize TNA World Title Situation Involving NXT’s Trick Williams – Nic Nemeth has drawn attention for comments made on social media that appear to take a pointed jab at the current TNA World Championship picture—specifically regarding WWE NXT’s Trick Williams holding the top title in TNA.

In a post on X promoting TNA’s Against All Odds event set for Friday, June 6, in Tempe, Arizona, Nemeth included what many have interpreted as a sarcastic remark directed at the crossover storyline currently placing the TNA World Title in NXT’s orbit.

“AGAINST ALL ODDS is LIVE in Tempe, Arizona JUNE 6! PLUS you can hang with The Tag Team Champions & the guy that does the fun turn around and smile move, (before losing the TNA World Title to guys that don’t even work here),” Nemeth wrote.

While he didn’t mention anyone by name, the line “the guy that does the fun turn around and smile move” is widely seen as a reference to Joe Hendry, who famously uses that gesture as part of his entrance. Hendry dropped the TNA World Championship to NXT’s Trick Williams in a surprise moment that has drawn both buzz and criticism, particularly from fans and talent who see the move as sidelining full-time TNA performers.

The crossover between WWE and TNA has been a high-profile story in recent weeks, with Trick Williams appearing on both NXT and TNA programming as the reigning TNA World Champion. On this week’s NXT, Williams successfully defended the belt against Mike Santana. He’s now scheduled to defend the title again at Against All Odds against Elijah (formerly known as Elias in WWE).

Nemeth’s tone suggests frustration over TNA talent losing titles to outside stars, even if his comments are potentially part of a larger storyline. As with many aspects of professional wrestling, the line between genuine critique and in-character work remains intentionally blurred. Still, his post has fueled speculation that he may be positioning himself for a title feud—possibly portraying himself as a TNA loyalist standing up for the promotion against external threats.

As of now, TNA has not responded to Nemeth’s remarks publicly, and Trick Williams continues to carry the TNA World Championship heading into Against All Odds this Friday night in Tempe.
