Chris Jericho Wins FTW Title at AEW Dynasty – In a dramatic showdown at AEW Dynasty, Chris Jericho secured the FTW Title after a fierce battle against HOOK. The match unfolded in true FTW fashion, with HOOK displaying unwavering defiance until the very end.
Despite absorbing two Judas Effect elbows and defiantly gesturing with a double bird, HOOK ultimately succumbed to Jericho’s onslaught after receiving a blow to the head with Floyd the baseball bat, leading to Jericho’s pinfall victory.
Throughout the intense final moments and the subsequent post-match “celebration,” Jericho maintained a remorseful demeanor, expressing apologies to both HOOK and Taz, HOOK’s father and the FTW Championship creator, as medical staff attended to HOOK.
However, the crowd in St. Louis did not embrace Jericho’s victory, expressing their disapproval with chants of ‘Please retire’ and ‘Go home, Jericho.’ Nevertheless, Jericho’s triumph marks another championship accolade in his illustrious career, adding to his already impressive resume.
Jericho’s victory makes him the fifth individual to hold the FTW Title since its introduction to AEW in 2020. HOOK’s second reign with the championship commenced at AEW All In, where he emerged victorious against Jack Perry on the Zero Hour pre-event.
