WWE Discusses Potential Changes to Kickoff Shows

WWE Discusses Potential Changes to Kickoff Shows – It appears that WWE may be considering a shift in the presentation of its Kickoff shows, potentially moving towards a format inspired by ESPN’s College GameDay.

Traditionally, WWE’s Kickoff shows for events like WrestleMania have consisted of a two-hour broadcast, with the first hour featuring panel discussions on the card’s matches and a match or two in the second hour. However, in the past, WWE would often add matches to the Kickoff shows on the day of the event, featuring undercard talent.

According to reports from PWInsider, WWE is exploring possible changes to the format of its pre-shows. Fans should anticipate adjustments sometime this year, with the company aiming to emulate the live, high-energy, and free-flowing discussions seen on programs like College GameDay.

These potential changes come amidst WWE’s ongoing efforts to incorporate more of a sports-based presentation into its product, a shift that has become more pronounced since the departure of Kevin Dunn. As WWE continues to evolve, it seems they are exploring new ways to engage and excite fans leading up to their big events.

As noted, WWE may also shift their Premium Live Event start time from 8 PM to 7 PM.
