Grayson Waller Fires Back at “Stupid” Fans Who Don’t Want The Rock at WrestleMania – The Rock became the subject of a tidal wave of anger online, with many angry wrestling fans voicing their opinion on the Cody Rhodes – Rock Storyline. Waller, who is no stranger to riling up a fanbase, found the series of events rather odd.
Speaking with Inside The Ropes’ own Kenny McIntosh, Waller pointed out how fickle the fans are for abandoning the dream match so quickly, adding that The People’s Champion brings something special each time he appears on TV:
I have never in my life seen so many people who can barely read and write caring about a story. It absolutely boggles my mind. A few months ago everyone was [saying] Oh Rock come back! How long have they wanted The Rock vs. Roman Reigns? People have been begging for it for years, then they get it and now they’re complaining about it. It just shows in a way how stupid these fans are. They want this, but [then they say] we don’t want it now, we want it here. It’s like just shut up. I was backstage for that. Maybe I don’t like The Rock, maybe I do, who knows?
But the energy in that arena that night is wild. As I stood there with Theory, and Theory has been someone who stood across The Rock, 150 million hit man Austin Theory. And that’s just a different vibe to it. So you have these people who are chronically online, who don’t know what things actually feel like because they don’t leave their house. Go to the arena, feel the energy in the arena that night and then come talk to me.
When asked about whether or not Cody Rhodes will finish the story, Waller responded that there is only one story that he cares about:
Who cares about Cody? Why do I care about Cody’s story? I’m trying to start Grayson Waller’s story. Cody has had so many opportunities. He just won the Royal Rumble! Imagine giving up your match. Everyone’s yelling at The Rock. Cody is the one who stood down and went yes Mr. Rock, Sir, please have your match, Sir. Oh, yes anything, Sir. But I guess that’s what happens. Maybe we need to start talking about why Cody gave the match up rather than why The Rock stole it.
