Two Title Matches Official for NXT Vengeance Day – Ilja Dragunov couldn’t wrestle at NXT New Year’s Evil due to medical reasons, so he couldn’t defend his NXT Championship against Trick Williams in the main event.
On the January 16 WWE NXT episode, Dragunov made a comeback and told Williams that they would have their championship match at NXT Vengeance Day.
The catch for Williams is that he’s currently teaming up with Carmelo Hayes in the NXT Dusty Rhodes tag team Classic Tournament. If they make it to the finals, Williams will have to do double duty at the Premium Live Event.
In another development, Roxanne Perez won a 20-woman Battle Royal and earned a shot at the Women’s Title against Lyra Valkyria.
Perez secured the victory by using Pop Rox on Kelani Jordan and getting the pinfall. After the match, Valkyria confronted Perez. Both women are set to participate in a contract signing on the January 23 episode of WWE NXT.
