MJF Facing Potential Year-Long Absence – MJF’s recent shoulder injury, which he sustained during the AEW Worlds End pay-per-view event, might sideline him for an extended period.
In the main event, he competed with a torn labrum and a hip injury, the latter occurring during a match with Jay White the previous month.
Considering his torn labrum, MJF is faced with a decision between opting for rehab or undergoing surgery. The latter could result in a lengthy absence from AEW, possibly up to a year. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s reported that MJF is inclined towards rehab to avoid the prolonged recovery period associated with surgery.
“He’s [MJF] hoping to have it heal through rehab rather than surgery because surgery would put him out for months, and he was told perhaps close to a year, which he wants to avoid.”
As MJF and his doctors assess the situation, AEW will need to navigate without him for an undetermined duration.
