Drew McIntyre Playfully Uses Meme to Address CM Punk’s Injury – On the January 29 episode of WWE Raw, CM Punk confirmed that he suffered a torn triceps during the Men’s Royal Rumble match. He stated that the injury would force him to miss WrestleMania 40, and he expressed his disappointment because main-eventing WrestleMania had been his dream, and that was his goal upon his return to WWE. Drew McIntyre interrupted and told Punk that he prayed for his injury, as he was determined to stop Punk from winning the title. McIntyre then attacked Punk’s injured arm.
Today, McIntyre took to Twitter/X and posted a parody of the popular meme of Grant Gustin posing next to Oliver Queen’s grave. McIntyre cropped his face onto Gustin’s body. On Queen’s tombstone, he wrote “CM Punk’s WrestleMania Main Event 2024-2024”. Clearly, McIntyre is pleased that Punk’s WrestleMania dream won’t come true this year.
During his promo on WWE Raw, McIntyre also told Punk that he would find a way into the world title match at WrestleMania 40 so he could live Punk’s dream. McIntyre went on to beat Sami Zayn in the main event on Monday.
