Backstage News on Von Wagner’s NXT Absence – Von Wagner had been conspicuously absent from the wrestling scene since before Thanksgiving, but recent reports from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter clarify that his absence was not due to injury. On the latest episode of “NXT,” Wagner resurfaced backstage alongside manager Robert Stone, signaling the start of a potential program with Noam Dar for the Heritage Cup.
During the segment, Wagner expressed curiosity about the trophy Dar was carrying, initiating a confrontation. After Dar attempted to explain the Heritage Cup rules, Wagner promptly challenged him to a match for the coveted trophy in the upcoming week.
Contrary to speculations, Dave Meltzer, the editor of the Wrestling Observer, stated that there is no underlying story behind Wagner’s hiatus. He affirmed that Wagner is not dealing with any injuries but simply wasn’t utilized during this period. Wagner had been active in the wrestling scene before his return to “NXT,” notably securing a victory over Keanu Carve on “WWE NXT Level Up” with a TKO.
Wagner’s previous appearance on “NXT” was on November 21, where he shared a holiday dinner with his manager’s wife and family at Stone’s house. His last significant storyline involved a feud with Bron Breakker, culminating in a match on November 7. Breakker emerged victorious, following a prior episode where he crushed Wagner’s skull with steel steps. In their final encounter, Stone intervened, striking Breakker with a chair, and Wagner powerbombed him through the announce desk, concluding the feud.
