1/9 NXT Results – We begin with highlights from last week’s NXT New Year’s Evil.

Moments ago: Nikkita Lyons was attacked from behind by Blair Davenport in the Most Dangerous Parking Lot in Sports Entertainment. The segment firs aired during the Law and Order commercial tease.

Nikkita and Blair fight into the ringside area.  Nikkita sends Blair into the apron and they go into the ring.

Blair Davenport vs. Nikkita Lyons

Lyons with a suplex and she hits a running forearm into the corner.  Blair with a back elbow and she misses a double stomp off the turnbuckles but rolls through.  Nikkita with a kick for a near fall.  Lyons with an Irish whip and Blair escapes a suplex.  Blair send Lyons shoulder first into the ring post.  Blair with a double stomp off the apron.  Blair goes up top and hits another double stomp to the back.  Blair with a forearm to the back.  Blair with a front face lock.  Blair with a guillotine into a front face lock.  Lyons tries for a back body drop but Blair blocks it.  Lyons with a package suplex.  Lyons wit a forearm and Blair fires back.  They continue the exchange and Blair with a kick but Lyons with kicks to the chest.  Lyons with punches and a suplex but Blair lands awkwardly.  Lyons with a German suplex.  Lyons with a double jump seated splash and she gets a near fall.  Lyons misses a round kick and Blair with a drop kick.

Lyons with a kick and she goes for a slam but Blair escapes.  Lyons clotheslines Blair over the top rope to the floor.  Lyons kicks Blair and goes for the spinning back heel kick but misses and hits the ring post.   Blair dives at the knee and then hits the Bea Trigger for the three count.

Winner:  Blair Davenport

– We take a look at the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic with a video package narrated by Cody Rhodes.

– Gallus walks in the back.

Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin walk in the back as we go to commercial.

– We are back and Hayes is on the phone and he says he has good news for Trick.  Trick says he doesn’t know if he wants to hear it.  Hayes says he takes championships and not chances.  He says Trick won on his own.  Hayes says he is here to help Trick. Hayes says they are in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Trick says he needs to stay locked in for his match with Ilja. Hayes says they stay focused and they will be competitive.  Hayes says they are going to win the Dusty Cup and then the tag titles.  Hayes says he will be a Triple Crown champion and he will be two title Trick.

Gallus vs. Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker in a First Round Match in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic

Bron and Mark start things off and Mark with a take down.  Mark with a side head lock and Bron with a shoulder tackle.  Bron holds on to the side head lock when Mark tries to send him off the ropes.  Wolfgang tags in and applies a side head lock.  Bron catches Wolfgang on a leap frog and hits a slam.  Baron tags in and Baron with a splash into the corner.  Baron with an uppercut.  Wolfgang with a head butt.  Mark tags in and he goes to the turnbuckles and hits a shoulder tackle for a near fall.  Mark with a punch and European uppercuts.  Mark with a corkscrew uppercut.  Baron with a punch and side head lock but Wolfgang tags in and he hot shots Baron.  Mark with a clothesline to Baron and Wolfgang with a back senton.

Wolfgang with a side head lock on Baron followed by an uppercut.  Baron with elbows to Wolfgang followed by punches.  Wolfgang with a forearm and chops.  Wolfgang with a European uppercut but Baron with a belly-to-back suplex.  Bron tags in and Wolfgang with a forearm.  Mark tags in and connects with an elbow to the back of the head and a forearm.  Mark with an arm bar and Wolfgang tags back in.   Wolfgang works on the neck.   Mark tags in and they punch Bron.  Mark with a snap mare and he gets a near fall.  Mark with forearms but Bron with punches.  Mark with a knee to keep Bron from getting to his corner.  Bron with a umping knee.

Baron tags in and he clotheslines Mark.  Baron with kicks in the corner.  Baron with forearms in the corner.  Mark fires back.  Baron continues the exchange.  Mark avoids a splash by Corbin.  Corbin with a clothesline off the turnbuckles for a near fall.  Wolfgang with an accordion slam to Bron.  Baron with a spinebuster to Wolfgang.  Mark with a clothesline and Baron with Deep Six to Mark.   Bron and Wolfgang exchange punches while Baron and Mark do the same.  Bron sends Wolfgang to the floor.  Baron chokes Mark in the corner.  Baron gets Mark on his shoulders and he hits a Death Valley Driver.  Baron sets for a spear but Wolfgang pulls Mark to the floor.  Baron grabs Wolfgang and then he punches the ring post when Wolfgang moves.  Mark with a baseball slide to Baron.  Mark punches Baron and slams his head into the announce table.  Mark slams the hand into the apron.

Mark with a Cobra Clutch.  Wolfgang tags in and he Irish whips Corbin.  Wolfgang with a splash and snap mare.  Mark tags in and Baron is sent into the corner.  Mark misses a splash and Corbin with a kick to Wolfgang and Bron tags in and hits shoulder tackles on both men.  Bron with a clothesline to Mark and a double knee gutbuster to Wolfgang.  Bron with a belly-to-back suplex to Mark and a shoulder tackle to Wolfgang.  Bron goes behind Wolfgang and gives him a German suplex while Wolfgang holds Mark for a slam.

Bron sets for the spear and Corbin tags in.  Wolfgang goes after Baron and Bron and Bron with a spear to Wolfgang followed by End of Days to Mark for the three count.

Winners:  Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker (advance to face the winner of Hank and Tank versus Axiom and Frazer)

– We take a look at Tiffany’s day at Fallon’s farm, but she is late. Tiffany arrives dressed for a Barbie convention.  She does not appreciate the smell of the horse manure.  Tiffany says she had to have the perfect outfit since she is late.  Fallon says she has clothes for Tiffany to wear.  Tiffany says she needs to look good to do all of this. Tiffany has trouble walking in her heels in the stable. Fallon tells Tiffany she will clean the horses and all of the equipment.  Fallon tells Tiffany if she sees any horse poop (or horses***) to pick it up.

– Lyra Valkyria walks in the back as we go to commercial.

– We are back and Lyra Valkyria is in the ring.

She mentions her match from last week.  Despite being in the deepest women’s division in WWE, she says she will end 2024 the way she started it, as NXT Women’s Champion.  She says Blair is not going anywhere.  Wherever this title goes, she will follow.  Who is she going to face at Vengeance Day? We will find out next week.  Ava has set up a 20 woman Battle Royal.  The final four will participate in a Fatal Four Way Match to see who faces her at Vengeance Day.

Lola Vice comes out and says Lyra is still the champ because of Tatum Paxley.  She can cash in the title whenever she wants.

Lyra says she thought that with her MMA background that Lola would be the one to turn this place upside down.  All you do is talk and talk and talk about what you are going to do.  What is it?  Maybe you are not sure about what she is here to do.  Lyra says she is not here to watch Lola shake her ass on Instagram.  She wants to face Lola Vice, the cage fighter.  Some people like her and some don’t like her.  Everyone can agree that people want to see this match.

Lola says everyone loves her.  These people are like sheep.  They follow her every move.  She can’t blame them because they love her Latina Heat.

Lyra asks where is that Latina Heat.  The only Latina Heat she sees is Elektra Lopez, the person who held Legado together.  She asks Lola when will she tell Elektra she is not using that contract for the tag team title.

Elektra punches Lyra and Lola joins in the attack. Tatum Paxley comes out and goes after Lola while Lyra deals with Elektra.

– We see MetaFour watching the end of Briggs, Jensen, and Fallon.Josh shows up and he tells MetaFour they didn’t break up because of them.  Josh says they need to get their heads out of their asses.  Josh says he deserves a rematch against Noam. Dar tells Josh to get to the back of the line.

We go to commercial.

– We are back and Luca Crusifino shows Ava footage of his foot under the ropes and Ava says she cannot do anything about it. Dragon Lee apologizes about last week and he says he saw what the LWO did last week and his visa issues are taken care of. Lexis King shows up and he asks about the Open Challenge and Lee says it is still going on. Lexis says he has a contract for Lee to sign and Lee signs it.  He says the match is tonight.

Josh Briggs vs. Oro Mensah

Josh with punches to Oro followed by a slam and elbow drop for a near fall.  Josh with a front face lock and forearm to the back.  Oro escapes a slam attempt and Josh with a shoulder tackle.  Josh with an Irish whip and splash into the corner.  Oro with a fishhook and a jumping knee.  Briggs with a slam and Oro is pulled to the floor.  Lash distracts the referee to allow Dar to grab Josh’s ankle as he returns to the ring.  Oro with punches and a chop.  Oro gets a near fall.  Josh misses a boot and Oro with a leg sweep and forearm to the back of the head for a near fall.  Oro chokes Josh and drops a knee to the arm.  Oro gets a near fall.  Oro with a forearm and Josh with a chop.  Josh misses a splash into the corner.

Oro with kicks and Josh sends Oro to the apron.  Oro rakes the eyes and sends Josh into the turnbuckles.  Oro with a springboard side kick for a near fall.  Oro with kicks and he pie faces Josh.  Josh blocks a kick and hits a spinebuster.  Jakara gets on the apron and Noam grabs Josh and Oro misses a spinning heel kick into the corner.  Josh with a clothesline for the three count.

Winner:  Josh Briggs

– Lucien Price, Bronco Nima, and SCRYPTS walk in the back.

– Tony D’Angelo, Channing Lorenzo, and Adrianna Rizzo walk in the back.

We go to commercial.

– We return with Tiffany doing her chores at Fallon’s farm while Fallon supervises. Tiffany asks if it is time for a break but Fallon says that was the first task of the day. Fallon tells Tiffany she needs to clean the horse Buttercup and Tiffany says not to call her Buttercup.  Fallon tells Tiffany that is the horse’s name. Tiffany finishes cleaning Buttercup.  She says she needs a shower, new clothes, and to be disinfected.  She says she hopes Fallon enjoyed the show. Fallon says you can’t put a clean horse in a dirty stall.  Fallon tells Tiffany to clean the stall. Tiffany is disgusted by the horse manure.

Bronco Nima and Lucien Price vs. Tony D’Angelo and Channing Lorenzo (with Adrianna Rizzo) for the NXT Tag Titles

NIma and Lorenzo start things off and go to a stalemate.  Channing with a side head lock but Bima iwth a shoulder tackle.  Lorenzo with punches and Nima misses a boot.  Nima catches Lorenzo and goes for a slam but Lorenzo escapes.  Tony tags in and punches Nima.  Tony goes for a shoulder tackle but bounces off Nima.  Lorenzo tags in and he hits a knee lift and Tony with a shoulder tackle.  Price tags in and Price runs Lorenzo into the corner and connects with shoulders.  Lorenzo goes for a sunset flip but Price stays on his feet.  Lorenzo with a drop kick and Tony tags in.  Tony with a clothesline into the corner and then he hip tosses Channing into Price for a near fall.  Lorenzo tags in and Tony with a slingshot elbow while Tony tosses Lorenzo into Price for a cross body and a near fall.  Lorenzo with punches.  Nima tags in and he kicks Lorenzo in the back.  Price goes over the top rope when Lorenzo pulls the ropes down.  Nima gets Lorenzo on his shoulders and he sends Lorenzo face first to the floor while Price hits a boot to the back of the head.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Nima with a kick to Lorenzo and he knocks Tony off the apron.  Nima with an arm bar but Tony grabs Nima and the referee sends him to the apron.  We see what Price and Nima did to Lorenzo during the commercial break.  Price holds Lorenzo and Nima punches him.  Price with a front face lock and he sends Lorenzo under the bottom rope to Nima but Lorenzo rakes the eyes and sends Nima into the ring post.  Price stops Lorenzo from making the tag but Tony tags in and punches Price and hits a belly-to-belly suplex or two.  Tony with a floatover and punches followed by a jackhammer.  Tony with a spinebuster to Price for a near fall.

Tony sets for a fisherman’s suplex but Price counters.  Lorenzo tags in and Tony with a German suplex while Lorenzo hits an uppercut.  NIma takes care of Lorenzo.  Price and Nima hit a double Samoan drop for a near fall.  Price gets another near fall while Nima kicks Lorenzo to the floor.  Nima tags in and Tony with an elbow to Price and a kick to Nima.  Lorenzo with a flying clothesline to send Nima and himself over the top rope.  Tony with a rolup.  Tony tosses Lorenzo onto Price and Nima on the floor.  Tony and Lorenzo hit Bada Boom Bada Bing but Nima pushes Lorenzo onto the cover.  All four men exchange punches.  The referee tells Nima to go back to the apron.  SCRYPTS tries to interfere but he takes care of Price by accident.  

Lorenzo takes care of Nima on the floor.  Tony with a Fisherman suplex for the three count.

Winners:  Tony D’Angelo and Channing Lorenzo

– We see Jacy telling the students what they need to do. She says she has an idea to save the university and they need to listen to her.

– Kelly Kincaid is with Oba Femi and she asks him when does he intend to use the contract. Oba says he can challenge for the title whenever he wants. Lexis King shows up and he says that if it weren’t for Trey Bearhill, they would have been in the finals.  You earned your title shot by winning the contract, but Lexis says he has his title match.  Lexis says he is looking at the next NXT Champion Oba Femi and he will be the next North American Champion.

We go to commercial.

– We are back and Wolfgang is angyr about their loss.Ridge Holland walks by and Joe tells Ridge it was a touching interview last week.  Ridge tells Joe he should worry about his guys. Ridge tells Joe he knows how tough he is and there is no fear in his eyes. Joe says now that Ridge is back in NXT, he doesn’t know how long he will last.

Cora Jade vs. Gigi Dolin

They lock up and Cora sends Gigi to the mat.  Gigi with an arm wringer.  Cora with a forearm and a double underhook but Gigi counters with a snap mare and kick for a near fall.  Gigi with Kawada kicks and she misses a drop kick when Cora moves.  Jade with a springboard kick.  Cora with shoulders in the corner.  Cora with more kicks in the corner and she chokes Gigi.  Gigi with a punch but Cora with an elbow.  Cora with a clothesline.  Gigi with forearms.  Cora sends Gigi throat first into the ropes.  Cora with a running back elbow to the back.  Cora with a running knee in the corner and she gets a near fall.  Cora with a reverse chin lock and Cora with elbows to the collarbone.

Cora with a knee to the midsection followed by an Irish whip but she misses a knee when GIgi moves.  Gigi with a forearm.  Gigi with forearms and a knee.  GIgi with forearms and an STO.  GIgi with a drop kick against the ropes.  Cora holds on to the ropes to stop the crucifix bomb from Gigi.  Cora with a DDT for the three count.

Winner:  Cora Jade

We go to commercial.

– Bronco, Lucien, and SCRYPTS walk in the parking lot and they are told that they are better than that by Jaida Parker.  She asks them who has Rizz.  She offers her services to the group.

Hank Walker and Tank Ledger vs. Axiom and Nathan Frazer in a First Round Match in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic

Hank and Axiom start things off and Hank sends Axiom to the mat.  Hank with a boot to Axiom.  Axiom lands on his feet on a belly-to-back suplex attempt but Axiom with a drop kick.  Frazer tags in and Hank sends Frazer into the turnbuckles.  Tank tags in and they Malachi Crunch Frazer.  Axiom tags in and he connects with a clothesline.  Frazer with a DDT and Axiom gets a near fall. Hank sends Axiom into the turnbuckles and then he send Axiom face first to the mat.  Hank with a chop and he slams Axiom Tank with a slingshot splash for a near fall.  Axiom with a chop and he escapes a gutwrench suplex.  Frazer tags in and connects with forearms and a flying forearm.  Frazer with a chop and he avoids a splash after an Irish whip.  Frazer with a springboard drop kick to Tank for a near fall.  Hank sends Axiom to the floor.  Tank with a Bubba Bomb.

Hank tosses Frazer to Tank for a belly-to-back suplex and Hank gets a near fall.  Hank goes for a power slam but Fraze escapes.  Hank goes over the top rope to the floor and Axiom tags in and hits a suicide dive.  Frazer with a suicide dive to Tank.  Axiom and Frazer with another set of suicide dives.  Hank with a clothesline after Axiom misses a move from the turnbuckles.  Axiom with a near fall after an inside cradle.  Axom with a super kick and Frazer tags in and hits a Phoenix Splash for the three count.

Winners:  Axiom and Nathan Frazer (advance to face Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin)

– We go back to the farm. Tiffany says she will never talk about this again.  She is going to erase all of this from her memory. Fallon and her friends are laughing at how she looks.  Fallon says Tiffany lasted longer than she expected. Fallon asks Tiffany how did it feel to do real work. Tiffany says it was hell.  She says it was the worst day of her life because she got to feel what it was like to be Fallon.  Tiffany says she pities Fallon because she likes this crap.  This is no way to live. Tiffany steps in a pile of horse manure and she falls into a bucket of water.

We go to commercial.

– We are back and Edris and Malik walk in the back talking about the Dusty Cup and they are going to be successful in 2024.  Edris says everyone is talking about their opponents but next week, they beat Hayes and Trick.  Blade says they are on the same page while Trick and Melo aren’t. Brinley Reece shows up and she asks if they are ready to change their lives.  Brinley wants them to do some stretching.  Brinley says they can have six packs in no time, but Malik and Edris show their six packs off.

– Next week, we will have LWO versus Riley Osborne and Duke Hudson as well as Malik Blade and Edris Enofe versus Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams in the Dusty Tag Team Classic.  We will also have the women’s number one contender Battle Royal.

Dragon Lee vs. Lexis King for the NXT North American Championship

They lock up and Lee pats King on the chest before breaking.  They lock up and King backs Lee into the corner and he gives a clean break.  King misses a clothesline and Lee with a side head lock take down.  King with a head scissors.  King with a wrist lock and he works on the arm.  Lee with a take down and King with a body scissors and rollup for a near fall.  King with a side head lock.  King with a shoulder tackle.  Lee with a drop kick that sends King into the corner.  Lee goes for a monkey flip but King puts Lee on the turnbuckles and he hits a drop kick to sends Lee to the floor.  King goes for a move to the floor and he gets caught in the ropes.

King has words for Trey Bearhill who is being held back by officials.  Lee with a suicide dive onto King.  

King sends Lee into the ring steps. King with a kick to the back and they return to the ring.  King gets a near fall.  King sends Lee into the turnbuckles.  King chops Lee and chokes him in the ropes.  Lee with punches but King with a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall.  King with forearms to Lee and he gets a near fall.  King with a reverse chin lock.  Lee with punches but King with a knee to the midsection and a kick to the back.  King with a running body tackle to the back for a near fall.  King with a single leg crab and Lee counters with a rollup for a near fall.  King with a clothesline.  Lee with punches.

Lee with a running back elbow and clothesline.  Lee is sent to the apron and he connects with a kick and a slingshot head scissors that sends King into the turnbuckles.  Lee with a leg sweep and hesitation kick to the head.  Lee with a hesitation drop kick for a near fall.  Lee and King exchange chops.  Lee floats over and King with a double leg take down.  King with a super kick but Lee with a jumping knee.  King with a Northern Lariat and a Michinoku Driver for a near fall.  King with a single leg crab but Lee gets to the ropes to force a break.  King runs into a super kick and Lee with Destino for the three count.

Winner:  Dragon Lee (retains championship)

After the match, Oba Femi comes out with an official to cash in his contract.

Oba Femi vs. Dragon Lee for the North American Championship

Before the match starts, Lee with a plancha.  Lee with punches and an enzuigiri.  Oba with a forearm and he tosses Lee to the mat.  Oba runs into a super kick.  Lee with a tornado DDT for a near fall.  Lee sets for Operation Dragon but Oba counters with a power bomb for the three count.

Winner:  Oba Femi (new champion)

Oba Femi celebrates as we go to credits.
