QT Marshall Reportedly Done with AEW – As AEW gears up for 2024 with aspirations to recapture the momentum of 2022, the promotion will be navigating the departure of a notable figure both on and off-screen.
QT Marshall had previously disclosed his impending exit from All Elite Wrestling, intending to fulfill his commitments until the year’s end before officially stepping down from his role as Vice President of creative and talent within the company.
His departure stemmed from frustrations regarding his role, seeking more prominence as a wrestler rather than solely being in a player/coach capacity. There were disagreements over the product’s direction, with Marshall advocating for a more entertainment-centered approach, favoring character-driven content, while Tony Khan emphasized storytelling through excellent in-ring matches.
Issues deepened when CM Punk reportedly opposed Marshall’s involvement in Collision and didn’t endorse QTV segments as part of Powerhouse Hobbs’ presentation. The cancellation of these segments, for which Khan took responsibility, strained their relationship, causing Marshall to feel a lack of transparency.
Despite being well-liked within AEW, reports from Fightful Select suggest Marshall has effectively concluded his commitments with the company, having been absent from shows for weeks. Marshall has garnered outside interest.
Additionally, discussions hint at potential plans surrounding the Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling trademark recently filed for, indicating future avenues of exploration.
